About the Program

We are currently seeking an intern for the Deal Matching position to join our team and assist with providing excellent customer service for existing clients of Alchemist Capital. This is a three-month unpaid internship position that offers invaluable experience and the opportunity to work in a professional corporate environment. After three months, if you have demonstrated strong results and a passion to pursue further within investment banking, a discussion for a paid package will ensue. 

As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough analysis of potential deals to identify the key factors that distinguish what makes a good deal
  • Examining the financials of each deal to gain insight into its feasibility and profitability, through various financial documents such as P&L, BAS, etc
  • Identify the best possible matches via deal matchmaking to meet clients' criteria, taking into account various factors such as their goals, deal breakers, budget, location and so forth
  • Communicate with deal partners to obtain detailed information about the companies involved and ensure that all aspects of the deal are properly addressed

Important skills needed to succeed in this role:

  • Financial acumen - knowing how to read financial statements, knowledge of financial terms, mainly profit and loss statements.
  • Attention to detail - Highly observant and able to identify inconsistencies. Must have the ability to focus on tasks and pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Analytical - Strong analytical skills, able to collect and analyze data, draw insights, and make informed decisions based on findings. The candidate should be able to think critically and logically after thorough research online and in person.
  • Ability to work autonomously - Ability to work independently without constant supervision, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
  • High memory power - The ideal candidate will possess excellent memory retention and the ability to recall information easily, especially when prompted by external parties.
  • Dynamic real time problem solving - The candidate will be able to solve problems ad-hoc including unconventional issues that will naturally arise from the wide number of industries that Alchemist Capital does business in

Overall, the candidate should possess a combination of technical and soft skills that enable them to thrive in a fast-paced and lively work environment. They should be able to collaborate with others and communicate effectively and efficiently, while demonstrating the ability to work independently with full ownership of their assigned tasks and projects.
