Training & Personal Development at Amazon Australia & New Zealand

I have picked up skills on how to actually decommission servers. I am also learning to be a good leader trying to actively use leadership traits every day in my team like everyone.

There are online trainings which are assigned by your manager, and go by a week-by-week basis so following this is quite self-explanatory. The Student Programs team also organise in-person intern development training sessions where you can meet with interns of other streams. On the job, I learnt Excel skills and SQL language, both of which I had low or no prior experience in.

I had 3 months to learn in the beginning of my job. Very generous. And there is always ongoing learning opportunities.

Whole program was run by one early careers manager. No contact from anyone beyond HR but him. He was great, but he's had to leave because there is no work left for him at Amazon. No one picked up any slack after he left, leaving us with no grad program at all. Feels ironic to be doing this survey
