About the role
As a cadet structural designer, an interest in mining and minerals and a little understanding in the design process, structural steel & concrete design would be advantageous. You will assist with the development of structural design projects, where you will develop your skills by acquiring a more detailed knowledge and understanding of planning and design principles, policies, standards and guidelines utilising Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software applications.
- Work as part of the Design Services team, assisting with the development of planning and design projects
- Develop your skills by assisting in the preparation of 3D structural models and 2D structural drawings (steel and concrete) for industrial and mining projects
- Acquiring more detailed knowledge and understanding of structural planning and design principles, policies, standards, and guidelines
- Interface with other disciplines (civil/earthwork, architectural, mechanical, piping, electrical) to understand how structural drawings are incorporated with other discipline requirements.
- Work with Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software applications such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) and Bentley Pro-structures.
- Comply with all Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and requirements
About you
- An interest/understanding of Structural Steel, Concrete and Platework design.
- Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (structural or architectural) from a recognized institution.
- Exposure to Prosteel, AutoCAD and Navisworks design and drafting packages.
- Clear written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team is a must.
- Previous experience in a similar organisation is an asset.
