Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
I am still at the very early stages of my career; however, I am keen to see where this field will take me in the future. The plan is to exit the 2-year grad program as an assistant project manager, however there are many other fields that spark an interest in me as well (risk management especially). I am very excited to see what the future holds for me working at Babcock.

Cannot comment on this as I haven't experienced it. I can say that salary reviews and development feedback take inordinate amounts of time, so don't anticipate the deadlines handed to you to mean anything.
Graduate, Sydney - 19 Jul 2024
The pathway to being promoted is well outlined. It is clear what capabilities we need to show in order to progress from being a graduate.
Graduate, Adelaide - 19 Jul 2024
There are so many opportunities here for a PM graduate that I'm not exactly sure on where I want to go. The first step is to get past the graduate program and with clear capability requirements, this has made the goals clear to everyone involved and through a regular review I can see how I am tracking and what areas I need to work on.

I've seen people move up so there are opportunities. I've been told you need to be good at what you're doing and then be assertive on your plans and career goals.
Graduate, Adelaide - 16 Jul 2024
At the end of the 2-year program, graduates are guaranteed a more senior role at Babcock. Every 6 months, we also have graduate reviews, where there is the potential for a salary increase (pending our performance).
Graduate, Adelaide - 15 Jul 2024
The expected career progression provides ample opportunities for me to progress and move up the ranks.
Graduate, Adelaide - 15 Jul 2024
It in theory is based of your capabilities and therefore you need to use the PDR review cycle to constantly improve yourself.
Graduate, Auckland - 12 Jul 2024
I feel because of the graduate program I am limited to career progression and opportunities for the time being.
Graduate, Perth - 10 Jul 2024
it seems unclear as to how I can make a lot of money at the company. There are a lot of different sectors however, meaning you can end up where you want if you ask for it
Graduate, Auckland - 10 Jul 2024
Babcock has many areas within the business for my engineering career to grow into. Additionally, we're partnered up with functional managers to help assist us in developing our careers with knowledge they've gained from experience within the business.
Graduate, Adelaide - 09 Jul 2024
For MID and my role, rotations are not a priority for me at the moment. However, excelling in the division would ideally be something like getting chartered.

To early to comment.
Graduate, Adelaide - 09 Jul 2024
There is a metrics of capabilities with 4 levels, the higher you achieve the more likely you are to progress to a higher skilled job
Graduate, Adelaide - 09 Jul 2024
Due to only being in the role for about a year and coming in as a graduate, I am yet to see what the promotional opportunities are.
Graduate, Adelaide - 03 Jul 2024
Promotion opportunities tend to come up as the company structure changes, and new teams are created. Career progression seems to happen in the long term for worker who prove themselves and their abilities.
Graduate, Auckland - 25 Jun 2024
I am unsure where my position will place me following the end of the graduate program, there is no clear role/funding for a role currently for a junior environmental advisor at my site.
Graduate, Auckland - 25 Jun 2024
I can't really speak to this as I haven't had a promotion; I'm a graduate. However, the business looks for people with certain levels of experience to move into different levels of seniority. In this way, it feels as though if you "do your time", you can gain promotions. This is primarily aimed at lower-level roles as the higher up you get, the less this seems to matter and the more important it is that you can meet the requirements of the role.
Graduate, Adelaide - 24 Jun 2024
Still very early on here (been less than 6months in role) so too early to tell, though I have had some good opportunities come my way and being involved in a regional committee which is great to be recognised within.
Graduate, Melbourne - 24 Jun 2024
Yet to see the full picture surrounding this but there seems to be a lot of opportunity surrounding a range of areas you may look into
