What projects/initiatives does your employer run and what have you worked on personally?
We are working on a Be Kind Volunteering project, to gather the WAMA team to volunteer at a chosen charity organisation. This is a great way to highlight how important it is for the company to give back to people in need, and to help out whenever and wherever we can.

This isn't exactly an area I'm interested in, so I can't comment. I'm sure they're not like funding a puppy skinning clinic, or something.

Babcock has strong morals. Environmental impact is a key talking point. I am unaware of projects and initiatives that Babcock is involved in at this point in time as I have not seen a whole lot of the wider business.

There's probably CSR projects being completed by Babcock, but I don't work on any as an engineer.

Babcock health and safety staff go on regular site walks and observe any practices that might negatively impact the environment or safety. The company is currently trying to electrify its vehicle fleet. The company allows workers the time to volunteer and support their community. For example, workers can take time out of their working day to donate blood.

We have some good people in the business trying to push this but because our margins are not large enough to enable them to have funds to make positive change, we are lacking in this area. That being said, we are not actively bad in this area.

They are involved with RUOK and mental health organisations alongside wellbeing initiatives like the 'Move More' Challenge we are about to start in July

The company allows employees to have 8 hours of volunteer time available for employees to use to promote STEM, or other areas of the business.
