How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
I work from home most days, Babcock is flexible and that is great.
Graduate, Adelaide - 22 Jul 2024
I am working every day, for 7.6 hours which adds up to 38 hours every week. On the occasion, I may have other commitments in which I arrive late or finish work early. Whenever this happens, I try to cover up the hours that I have missed sometime in that week, or if not possible, the week after. I make sure to always cover the time that I have not yet covered, whether that be in the office or at home.

I wish I had something to actually spend my hours on

Very flexible. I can choose to work a compressed schedule to get a day off each fortnight. I have the flexibility to work from home twice a week and can choose when I come and leave the office aligned to my hours.

Through a hybrid way of working, it is a fantastic mix of networking/socialising with others as well as convenient to work from home. Also, there is no issues with working part time or a condensed fortnight.

Flexible enough.

It depends on your role, but Babcock, for the most part, is quite flexible with employees' work hours. Some people start earlier (e.g. 7:30am), others start later (e.g. 9am). As long as you're meeting your agreed weekly hours and getting your work done in a timely manner, it's not a problem.

there is a good mix on on-site work and remote work.

They are very flexible with working from home, I do feel however that with work load some overtime is required.

The company is flexible with hours, but I still spend 4 days a week in the office

Generally flexible. Has ideal working hours but especially when working from home as long as I complete the necessary daily hours Babcock doesn't mind how I get them finished.

Contract states that I can work my 8 hrs/day (40Hrs weekly) from 7am-7pm

Generally, i work 4-5 days a week in the office. As long as I am delivering quality work and on time where i work shouldn't be an issue.

They are very flexible, i choose to be in the office all week

The company is fairly flexible with hours e.g. we can work around appointments and make up the time later on in the day or during the week. But the amount of hours worked in the week is always the same.

I work 8 hours each working day. The company is flexible with hours. For example, if you wish to start early and finish early, you can (as long as it remains an 8-hour workday). I work on site but do have the opportunity to work from home some days, which I hope to begin doing as I begin to take on work that is less physical in nature.

I have been somewhat limited in my ability to flexible in my working hours due to the nature of the job. I had anticipated to be able to work from home 2 days a week as per company policy, unfortunately i have not been able to do so.

I tend to do more than 38 hours a week most weeks, just based on workload. This is something more driven by the team I'm in than what occurs across the whole business though. I am happy to do extra time as I'd rather be busy than idle. The business is very flexible about agile arrangements though and is happy to facilitate nine-day fortnight schedules, and working from home.

It's a great balance, I'll work 2-3 days in office for 8hrs, and remotely from home either 2-3 days depending on this.
