Corporate Social Responsibility at Baker McKenzie

We support extensive pro-bono initiatives, as well as supporting indigenous organisations through the water we buy for the office. We have a good recycling program and support all the key CSR events throughout the year (earth hour, R U OK day, wear it purple day, etc.)

The firm has a strong commitment to pro bono work and frequently does charity work.

There are many pro bono and charity involvement initiatives. My favourite is the sandwich making sessions that we do to provide underprivileged students with lunches!

I do not know about Bakers CSR projects

We have continuous pro bono and charitable opportunities for staff members to get involved in (such as making sandwiches for underprivileged school children). I have worked on corporate charitable pro bono matters.

Depth and breadth of pro bono program. Have personally worked regularly with two refugee organisations, domestic violence organisations, and sporadically on research tasks or other projects. Have been involved Indigenous mentoring and RAP initiatives.

Not particularly familiar with this, although I know that the Firm is a signatory to the UN Global Compact and generally seeks to uphold this commitment in its external and internal processes.

The Firm has a strong commitment to Pro Bono work, including in the refugee/asylum seeker space and domestic/family violence space.

Lots of social initiatives and presence at key events (like international women's day events) and conferences (industry and team specific). Pro bono - I have engaged with the Women's Legal Service. Also the Gawura reading program was promoted through the Pro Bono team.

Our pro bono team conducts some amazing work and is industry-leading in its work. Key examples include refugee work, domestic violence against women, homelessness etc.

All pro bono work at the Firm is counted towards billable targets. I have worked on various pro bono matters for a number of charities as well as the Refugee Advice and Casework Service (RACS).
