Bayer CropScience is partnering with the University of Southern Queensland to provide a 2nd or 3rd-year student studying a Bachelor of Science in Plant Agricultural Science or a Bachelor of Agricultural Technology and Management.
The opportunity will involve undertaking an FT or PT placement for up to 6 weeks or 200 hours if a bulk placement does not suit, to compliment your studies in the above USQ courses.
Working alongside Bayer employees in the Vegetable team, you will gain hands-on experience working on current field trials and demonstration plots around the Toowoomba and Stanthorpe area.
You will gain exposure to their Seminis products and a variety of vegetables such as Sweetcorn, Spinach, Brassica, Onion, Peppers and Tomatoes.
The work you will complete will vary depending on the weather and seasonable crop cycle but expect to be sowing seeds, transplanting, collecting data for analysis, pest identification and eradication in addition to basic data input, analysis and reporting.
