Working Hours at Commonwealth Bank

8.6
8.6 rating for Working Hours, based on 45 reviews
How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
It is definitely a 9-5, with massive flexible to adjust your hours as needed. It is more focused on getting the work done, as opposed to logging 8+ hours a day.

When you have something on in your personal life, this most certainly is a priority and it treated as such by the team and management. Although there might be set days in the office depending on your team, if you need to go and do something by all means you can. Working from home is flexible and you can design this schedule with your leader depending upon your circumstances, your schedule really is customisable to you.

Work hours is somewhat flexible, although 9-5 is the norm. Some team members come to work earlier than 9 and leave earlier if they have other commitments, such as school drop off.

We have a hybrid model with 50 % of working days in office each month. which days you do attend office is flexible.

the Bank had a 50% mark for office attend you must hit a month its not a problem for me as I enjoy coming into the office you work a typic 9 to 5 hours but teams are flexible due to the fact that we have teams in other states and in India I like to work a 8 to 4 to avoid the busy rush home on the train. The team are really good at allowing you god attend appointments too I had broken my retainer and need to see the dentist so I took a exerted break and then worked the hours back during the week extremely flexible when need be.

It is extremely flexible. The team I work in is result-oriented, however, you would obviously have to be reasonable and of course not leave early to do your own thing. The teams are also considerate of any personal time off needed.

Each team varies, but I believe at CBA that many teams are quite flexible with hours and dont expect long hours of working unless a project requires it. If you need to go home to attend to personal matters you can do so with the condition that you will always complete your work on time and to the best of your ability. There is a 50% mandate in office however this can be flexible and works for most individuals.

My office is extremely flexible with working hours in terms of starting and finishing time. The main thing is that you do your 8 hrs and get your work done to the best standard. Personally, I stick to around 845-445/5, but ideally when working from home I'd like to work from 8am-4pm.

I have a requirement of 50% in-office attendance each month. This makes each month very flexible, as I can choose to seperate my in-office days to fit my schedule.

Extra hours will need to be put in once I've progressed further into my career.

it differs from team to team. My previous team in the bank did not let me work from home, with very inflexible hours. My new team is much more flexible and accommodating to different working arrangements.

I think asking this questions on a company scale is not an accurate reflection of the workplace. Asking how flexible your team is is far more realistic. I've worked for some teams where 4 days in office, 8am-5pm is standard and expected. Other teams, many people WFH permanently of most of the time and when they're in the office they might leave at 3pm so they can get home on time etc. I would like to honestly say there is flexibility but depending on your team this can be dishonest. I personally thing that whatever my contract says should be my expectations. Which is 50% WFH maximum and 7.6 hours per working day. Unless it is imperative for your role, I think asking more than that of your staff is unrealistic and dishonest to the contract we're all bound by.

We work reasonable hours and I very rarely have to work overtime.

Quite flexible, just making sure you get your work done.
Graduate, Sydney - 11 Sep 2024
Commbank is pretty flexible about hours. The expectation is 9-5 but of course you can change it around a bit to suit your schedule. There is also flexibility with in office days and work from home days. We only need to meet a 50% in office target every month.
