Please comment on your company's office space, location and facilities. And while we're at it, please tell us a little about the dress code.
We have many sites and locations and I will only comment on Clayton VIC. I work at the Clayton site and it is quite good with plenty of hot desking areas to collaborate and private quiet spaces when you need to take calls or focus. It has undergone some renovations and is undergoing more to upgrade outdated areas. Some of the labs need renovations and they are also getting them this year. The location is ok for me living in the East side of Melbourne and I like that I can work from other locations if I need to. The dress code is flexible, smart casual is acceptable. We have an on site canteen with food and drink available.

I work in an open plan office with easy access to the laboratory. The office, while open plan, still allows for a level of privacy at my desk and there are enough meeting rooms for when I need them.

The quality of the build is good. Some of the furniture is broken and out of date. The cleaning isn't done regularly. All the indoor plants are dead. The common areas are spacious and well resourced. The dress code is agreeable; some t-shirts are worn which I personally don't agree with but many workers have physical duties and so comfort is prioritised.

CSIRO has offices all over Australia. When I have attended other sites there is always an allocated hot desk for me to work from. Facilities offered in the work spaces that I have attended are exceptional. Dress code is neat casual however Work place Health and Safety standards are maintained including appropriate PPE in laboratories. Training on all aspects of WHS is provided and compulsory.

old, unclean, lack of functioning equipment, no-one takes responsibility for the broken equipment due to project costs or lack thereof, lacks basic laboratory functioning

offices are new and labs are fully supplied

Very nice office space - convenient location close to home and the facilities are acceptable. The dress code is that you would expert (smart casual), depending on the workday or if there's an event that requires otherwise.

The offices are largely empty. I have been to four CSIRO locations in my State and all have had minimal staff onsite and lots of empty space. There are many empty desks at every site which can feel isolating and in turn, de-incentivises people from going to the office. Some sites are more modern than others. Some sites have slightly more atmosphere than others. You can visit more vibrant sites but it can be difficult to be able to get access to attend those sites regularly. The locations in my State are good, there are multiple locations which means it is usually simple to get to them depending on where you are. Dress code is very casual and has not been the focus of any conversations (e.g. jeans and t shirts are acceptable).

The Clayton office has a cafe on site, easy parking, and plenty of work spaces. Offices at Lindfield are not on the train line. They are a bit older but have good facilities like meetings rooms etc. Offices are renovated and new (Eveleigh NSW). Location is easy to get to via the train. Dress code is casual/smart casual at all the sites.

spacious and well equipped

CSIRO offices are scattered around Australia. Some offices have more vibrant cultures than others. My assigned office is incredibly quiet and very minimal staff of site. Other sites that I am able to visit occasionally, appear to have a more vibrant culture, more staff and a better environment.

Office is located on James Cook University Campus which is a great location. Office is clean and modern. There are lots of plants around and windows too.

They are okay, the buildings are quite old and haven't had much of a refurbish. We hot desk and most mornings you have to go between a few desks before you find one that is working properly and has all the equipment. There can be issues with heating and cooling, so the temperature is never super comfortable. But there are really nice outside areas where you can sit or walk and there is a cafe on site with great options.

The company offices are really quite varied from location to location. At my site, there are many buildings spread out across the campus. The building that I work in is a little on the older side but has a kitchen, a number of offices, an open plan office space which I share with 3 colleagues and a number of hot desks which can be used by visiting staff or people without a permanent desk. There are more meeting rooms, and wellbeing spaces in other buildings on the site and a cafe across the road that is great for casual meetings or coffees. The dress code is also reasonably causal, many colleagues wear jeans or branded t-shirts, I wear white sneakers and knit jumpers so on the whole, it is quite laid back

I work in an open plan office, with access to adjacent laboratories. The desks are well set up and ergonomic. I also have access to a lunchroom within the office and a canteen, on the site. My only complaint is that CSIRO is not centrally located, making my commute take longer than I would like. This however cannot be helped given the amount of space that the CSIRO site takes up.

Space is great.

very good

Location is a little bit out of the way for me personally, but it is pretty central from all corners of SEQ. The only negative is that office spaces seems to have a lot of "stuff", like past projects and old technology and the like. For example in our workspace there are about 5-6 old computers (no longer in use) and as many monitors.
