Application Process & Interviews at Deloitte Australia

8.2
8.2 rating for Recruitment, based on 33 reviews
Please describe the interview process and assessments.
It was simple process for me, after applying for the role I was given the psychometric test and once I completed that I was invited to the assessment day. The people conducting the interview were super friendly and helped you where ever they could.
Graduate, Melbourne - 19 Jul 2024
The hiring process included an online assessment that required you to answer some case study questions, and there was a personality assessment. There was then a video assessment where you had to record yourself answering some questions. After that, there was an in person group assessment where we were provided a case study and had to answer questions based on that, which was more specific to my degree/role applied for. Then there was a one on one interview with a partner.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Jul 2024
Fairly good, my recruiter was receptive of any questions that I had, and the result after the interviews came at a good time.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Jul 2024
The hiring process is relatively quick compared to some other companies. The process is just as much Deloitte getting to know you, as you getting to know them. It is a great experience. Often the partner who interviews you will be the partner who you work under when you start. It is great to gain a connection to staff in the hiring process. It makes your first days in the job less daunting.

Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2024
Online process for me. Not as fun but in person ones now so might be different.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Jul 2024
I applied, took an online assessment on my abilities and strengths, then had a phone interview with someone on the Grad HR team. At the end of that call, we scheduled my time for the Assessment Centre (3 hour interview, combination of team case study and interview by manager of Department you're applying to). The case study was monitored by someone in the company, and they watched as my team member and I (who was applying for a different position) worked through the questions. For the interview portion, there were some preestablished questions but we only covered those for the first few minutes before shifting into them learning more about me as an individual.

There was a few stages of interview and assessments to help the hiring team to find suitable candidates. There was a digital interview where you record your answers and an assessment centre that included a group interview and a one on one interview
Graduate, Melbourne - 12 Jul 2024
The interview process and assessments span over 3-5 months and are quite intense, with each stage becoming progressively more challenging. Initially, you'll undergo online assessments, followed by questions to answer via video. Next, there's a group activity with other applicants and a case study to present to a senior employee, such as a director. Finally, the process culminates in a final interview with a partner of the firm.
Graduate, Melbourne - 12 Jul 2024
The interview process was quick and efficient. It was easy to understand and the assessments were straight forward.
Graduate, Sydney - 12 Jul 2024
I got interviewed for the vacationer program, which has 2 components - a group case study interview and a 1 on 1 interview with a Partner in my team. The case study involved working as a group to solve an issue. I know for the Graduate Program, the process involves more steps, which includes automated testing interview, video interview, and a phone interview.

Standard, what you would expect at any other large corporation.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
My pro tip would be to know the role you are applying to, have knowledge about that business area and tools and technologies that may be used. Don't be afraid to ask questions, as it's a two way street.
Graduate, Melbourne - 19 Jul 2024
The only tip I would have is if there is a group assessment to make sure that you contribute to the group, and if there are others who are not participating to ask their opinions and try and include them - it makes you look like a team player and that you are collaborative.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Jul 2024
Prepare by doing research about the role you wish to enter and using the STAR method for answering interview questions. Relating past experiences from university or past jobs to display how you learnt certain skills.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Jul 2024
Prepare by knowing who you are and what is it that makes you special. Just bring your authentic self!
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Jul 2024
learn more about the company and what projects they are doing. Personalise the questions to the company
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2024
STAR responses of real experiences which shows off your skills, openness to learning and ability to problem solve.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2024
I think the best thing to do is is prepare yourself and highlight your own personality traits. A big part of deloitte is the culture and the people, so try to see if the values align with who you are and if they do then make sure to highlight those traits. Be yourself, and if you don't know something then be honest and try to emphasise your other talents.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Jul 2024
Yes. Interviews can be scary, and we're often tempted to prepare for any possible question they might throw our way to reduce the nerves. However, I found that I answered them better when I hadn't prepared for the questions they might ask, but rather my experiences that showed my character, and what I brought to the table. And don't be afraid to ask for a moment to think over your answer - the majority of the time interviewers will see this as a sign that you're taking the question seriously.
Graduate, Melbourne - 12 Jul 2024
Be yourself and confident and make sure to do some research for the area you are going to apply for.
Graduate, Melbourne - 12 Jul 2024
Study up on Deloitte's vision statement and values. Showcase how you can be an asset to the company and how you as a person align with the values of Deloitte.
Graduate, Melbourne - 12 Jul 2024
Know a bit about the company and make sure you think you will be a good fit for the company and would enjoy the role/passionate about it.
Graduate, Sydney - 12 Jul 2024
There were no technical components to the interview, so my best advice is to get a well rounded experience (having work experience really helps), and in the interview process work on showing who you are as a person, and how you will be able to excel in both team work and client work.
Graduate, Melbourne - 12 Jul 2024
My advice would be do your research, make sure you know Deloitte, what we stand for, some big projects in the media. Also know why you want to work at Deloitte, think outside of the box what makes us differentiated to competitors. Also what makes you differentiated to every other graduate, think about your points of difference and bring stories/examples to back these points up.
Graduate, Sydney - 11 Jul 2024
Have a diverse resume - don't just stick to the same area of interest when picking extracurriculars, do something different from your degree subject area.
Graduate, Melbourne - 11 Jul 2024
If you can find practice assessments from the assessment provider, that would be advantageous. In group assessments, ensure you collaborate with others - they're assessing your ability to work with others not getting the 'right' answer. For the personal interview, try to document your significant career achievements and be able to recall them quickly, be concise in your answers and follow STAR
Intern, Sydney - 06 Feb 2024
The best way to prepare would be to ensure that your CV and cover letter are prepped for when the applications open and also to research more about the company and specifically the area. I would suggest practising responding to interviewing question (with family and friends).
Graduate, Brisbane - 17 Jan 2023
