What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Decent, though I wish it was more reflective of what other departments make
Graduate, Canberra - 24 Sep 2024
I think our pay is very good but I do note other grads in other departments begin at an aps4 which might be more appropriate for the level of work we are doing.
Graduate, Canberra - 13 Sep 2024
As aps3/4, the pay is good for the level of responsibility and workload is expected of us at our level.
Graduate, Canberra - 10 Sep 2024
I think the pay is good for the level of work we do
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Sep 2024
We have a solid progression of pay and we are fairly renumerated. I am happy with it.
Graduate, Canberra - 03 Sep 2024
Pay is average/low
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Sep 2024
Should be higher and more in line with other departments, some teams work harder than others e.G. Aviation
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Sep 2024
Pay is fine, but pay in comparison to other departments is perhaps a smidgen low. People who do comparable work at other departments are uniformly payed more than at this department.
Graduate, Canberra - 25 Feb 2021
Can't complain with my level of experience
Midlevel, Canberra - 23 Feb 2021
Pay commensurate with workload
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
Should be higher to be on par with other aps agencies.
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
It's the public service so very transparent. No bonuses unfortunately, but the path to promotion is clearly understood.
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
Since you are working for the government, there are no bonuses. Salary is adequate for the work you do.
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
The pay is good, but a lower pay scale than other federal departments.
Graduate, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
Pay is ok - on aps scale, it's on the lower end I don't think we do bonuses?
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
The pay is lower than other aps workplaces, however the graduate program promotes graduates quickly

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
It seems to be that it is fairly easy to find a team that will support remote work arrangements to work out of a different city.
Graduate, Canberra - 24 Sep 2024
The department helps pay for your move if you are travelling interstate and provides storage and a couple of weeks accommodation for when you first move down and are looking for a place to stay. We have great leave and sick leave entitlements. Flexible working hours between 7am-7pm although that can be work area dependent.
Graduate, Canberra - 13 Sep 2024
Generous leave policies, wfh arrangements.
Graduate, Canberra - 10 Sep 2024
We have generous leave policies such as flex and christmas shutdown.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Sep 2024
We have good leave. Not sure if we have any unusual perks
Graduate, Canberra - 03 Sep 2024
Generous leave policies and flexible working arrangements, a 'study day' to complete a graduate certificate through the university of canberra
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Sep 2024
Flex time. 15% Super!
Graduate, Canberra - 25 Feb 2021
16% super and flex is about it for the aps. Support for any move is also provided.
Midlevel, Canberra - 23 Feb 2021
Relocation expenses were covered.
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
Relocation from brisbane to canberra was covered. We do have a higher earnings rate for super (at least until the rest of australia is brought into line). We sometimes get to travel to cool places, including christmas island or cairns, any of the capital cities, and in non-covid times internationally too I am told.
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
You have the most stable job in the country and one of the highest superannuation rate.
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
Moving expenses were covered
Graduate, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
14.5% Superannuation contribution
Graduate, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
Moving expenses, and flex time.
Midlevel, Canberra - 22 Feb 2021
For the graduate program, moving expenses are paid, and there is the opportunity to get a graduate certificate in public administration from the uc as part of the program too (all paid for by the department!).
