At the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, our focus, put in its simplest terms, is to find new ways to improve the lives of all Australians. We strive to provide fresh thinking and creative advice to government. We contribute ideas on the many and varied issues facing Australia, taking into consideration the views and opinions of a range of stakeholders across the private, public, not-for-profit and community sectors.
Our expertise spans, social and women's policy, economic and international policy, defence, national security and everything in between. With such diverse responsibilities, we can offer a large variety of opportunities.
About the program
The Graduate Program (Program) is a 12-month Program founded on flexibility and empowerment. Like University, you are provided the agency to navigate your own journey and experiences.

Generalist Stream
For the curious mind, those who do not have the end goal in sight, but who seek to be inspired on their journey of discovery.
The Generalist Stream will take you on a journey of discovery as you explore and experience the wider work of the Department. You will have an open mind and will seek a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Department's key priorities including:
Corporate Stream
For individuals who like being a part of the big picture and are committed to their following their field of study from the lecture hall and into the workplace.
The Corporate Stream allows you to use your skillset and technical expertise to achieve outcomes and drive high quality services. You will be passionate about supporting the Department's enabling services and Government functions including:
