What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
No bonuses, but 15.4% super is somewhat of a bonus.
Graduate, Canberra - 12 Sep 2024
No bonuses, pay is decent but nothing incredible. Expect to be well paid particularly compared to the rest of the public service but if money is your main reason for choosing Treasury over other roles, you'll probably be disappointed in 10 years time.
Graduate, Canberra - 12 Sep 2024
The pay is very generous at such an entry level position. I am very happy with the pay - bonuses do not really apply as it is the public service.
Graduate, Canberra - 27 Aug 2024
The salary is fairly competitive
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Aug 2024
very happy and it reflects my current position as a grad
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Aug 2024
Competitive and appropriate
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Aug 2024
I am well remunerated given the junior stage of my career. Appropriately in the public service there are no additional incentive structures such as bonuses.
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Aug 2024
It's very competitive especially at grad level. Highest offer I got compared to a few others.
Graduate, Canberra - 20 Aug 2024
I believe there are no bonuses at the Treasury. The pay progression in the Graduate program is fantastic.
Graduate, Canberra - 08 Aug 2024
As an APS Organisation we don't do bonuses, and I am a-okay with that. Our salaries are very competitive with other APS departments, and I feel like we get paid very well for what we do.
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Aug 2024
For a graduate, pay in the Australian Public Service is quite good and it is even more true at Treasury, especially with broadbanding and progression within the graduate program.
Graduate, Canberra - 01 Aug 2024
I started on an average graduate pay and will broadband accordingly to a higher pay by the end of 2025. Cannot complain at all.
Graduate, Canberra - 01 Aug 2024
Relative to other agencies, the pay at Treasury is very good. I am not eligible for any bonuses.
Graduate, Canberra - 01 Aug 2024
Cannot ask more. Outstanding pay system. Very privileged.
Graduate, Canberra - 01 Aug 2024
Treasury has a sharp pay progression system, new joiners do not need to stay at lower levels of pay for long.
Midlevel, Canberra - 25 Oct 2022
I think the pay is okay for a graduate role however given the current cost of living crisis I think all APS pay should be increased to match these pressures. It is really hard to save or get ahead after paying bills etc. on this salary.
Graduate, Canberra - 18 Oct 2022
Great pay - clear progression. There are no bonuses but I don't think that's an issue given that we probably shouldn't be motivated by money to do the best we can in our jobs.
Graduate, Canberra - 14 Oct 2022
Pay is pretty good.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Oct 2022
I appreciate that Treasury contributes so much to super.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Oct 2022
I'm unsure of bonuses per se, although the superannuation contribution is very high at 15.4%. Your starting salary is high-ish for a grad but low for the work you do. Although you should shift up the pay grades fairly quickly and regularly every 6-12 months.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
15.4% superannuation, relocation allowance ($2-3k depending on where you're moving from) and one month accommodation on arrival to Canberra, opportunities to attend events (Budget lock-up, conferences, seminars, etc), generous leave policies (blood donor leave, flex time, cultural leave, leave between Christmas and New Year's Day included).
Graduate, Canberra - 12 Sep 2024
Flex time is great. You accrue leave in busy periods and can take that time off later. Not many other benefits.
Graduate, Canberra - 12 Sep 2024
Food and uber policies for working late are good perks - as well as the salary not inclusive of super.
Graduate, Canberra - 27 Aug 2024
Lots of events for employees, gym reimbursement, free lunch, and an ice cream fridge
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Aug 2024
Flex is great. it helps us with achieving a flexible work week where we would not loose pay if we needed to attend an appointment there is also a one off yearly $600 lifestyle payment to help us have a healthy and active lifestyle.
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Aug 2024
Gym discounts
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Aug 2024
The most generous perk is definitely leave - not having to take a week annual leave to not work between Christmas and new years as well as being to claim back time in lieu are two major examples.
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Aug 2024
Glasses reimbursement
Graduate, Canberra - 20 Aug 2024
No unusual perks aside from the lifestyle allowance, however I had this at my previous employer too so it is not that unusual to me.
Graduate, Canberra - 08 Aug 2024
no. 1 perk: work life balance. the flexible hours and accrued flex leave means that we don't need to work our asses off 24/7 and when we do, we get to take time off for it later. no. 2: compared to other APS organisations, we get one of the highest (and easiest to apply for), health and wellbeing allowances, at $600. no. 3: very laissez-faire with leave. they are happy for you to take leave at half pay or no pay if you want an extended holiday a couple weeks into your grad program
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Aug 2024
The relocation allowance for people moving from interstate is generous and very helpful. The lifestyle allowance is also much appreciated, especially since Treasury staff get discounts at some local gyms and fitness centres.
Graduate, Canberra - 01 Aug 2024
I wish we had perks. There is no perk that substantially stands out, private health care would be so amazing.
Graduate, Canberra - 01 Aug 2024
Annual lifestyle allowance of $600.
Graduate, Canberra - 01 Aug 2024
- Reimbursements for parking tickets at training venues. - Lifestyle allowance. - 3 days cultural leave.
Graduate, Canberra - 01 Aug 2024
Flexible work arrangements (flex time)
Graduate, Canberra - 07 Nov 2022
Flexitime offers unparalleled flexibility for planning your work/life balance.
Midlevel, Canberra - 25 Oct 2022
As a graduate moving from interstate I was entitled to funding towards moving costs. This was life saving as the move was very expensive and I probably would not have been able to afford it otherwise.
Graduate, Canberra - 18 Oct 2022
I didn't know about the wellbeing imbursement - which was a great surprise!
