I work in the CAVI project within TMR. As a Cyber Security Grad I work within the Scrum team in an agile project management framework to develop new software and rollout security updates to our AWS Cloud System. I also perform security governance and perform operational security tasks such as vulnerability scanning and patching. I also help to manage the PKI certificates being used by our wide range of IOT devices deployed on QLD Roads.

I get to work directly on software and expand my knowledge of AWS infrastructure. This role has been great for my experience.

I am a design engineer working on detailed and concept design of various projects. It includes using various standards and software to achieve the desired design.

My day-to-day responsibilities include procurement for site work, scheduling and execution. Followed by documentation and reporting of site geotechnical works.

Organising communication materials, managing schedules of channels, providing advice and review on materials created by others in the department.

I am a communications officer. I handle external communications and stakeholder engagement within road projects. I feel I have been offered a perfect balance of opportunity, responsibility and support in the roles I have undertaken throughout my graduate program thus far.

There are no set day-to-day responsibilities for my role. As my responsibilities and tasks are based on the project I'm assigned to, I have the flexibility to design my own schedule and pace.

My day-to-day responsibilities include developing assessments, which can form something as simple as developing a business case through to advising and influencing the design of project. My job also entails carrying this work through to construction, which includes developing the contract documents and ensuring it meets all environmental requirements throughout its implementation, whether this be through environmental audits or assisting the project manager with any environmental issues that may arise. It is a multi-faceted job, with a high variety of different work and different skills required. To put it simply, I am a jack of all trades, master of none.

I have had the opportunity to learn so many news skills and work on interesting projects, however it also feels (sometimes) like there isn't always enough work or enough variety of work to feel as if I'm meaningfully contributing

I am well supported by my team as I am currently 30 weeks pregnant, and I feel that this hinders my ability to work to my full capacity. My team continues to support me wherever I need it and I don't feel as though I am a burden, but I get more satisfaction when I achieve more.
