Sustainability at Department of Transport and Main Roads

I know we have standard disposal system. But i have not seen any specific movement for sustainability through movements such as beach cleanups or 3R movements.

We have a professional environmental team to do these works

Actively going above and beyond.

Recycling at work and on field. Field work completed with responsibility and ensuring that minimal damage is done to the environment.

The company is focused on helping in the process of reducing the carbon footprint of the building and help in the development of wind farms.

Number of efforts to reduce environmental impact especially on large projects that have the greatest impact.

As a graduate new to the department, I do not feel I know enough about this topic to comment.

Company's sustainability efforts are achieved through the products and services it provides.

They try their best, although as a transport business, they can only do so much. TMR do what they can.

Doesn't seem to be as much of a priority, although there is obviously recycling facilities, end of trip facilities for those who cycle to work etc

The Engineering and Technology branch seem to often have sustainability initiatives.

Have different bins for recycle and waste, drink tap

We are building a new fleet of 0% emissions buses.

There is a big push for sustainability in RoadTek

In the team I'm in, a lot of planning is around getting the public away from using motor vehicles and into Public transport and/or active transport. The organisation is dedicated to sustainability principles however how much of this dedication there is, is highly dependent on the individual business areas.

There is no commitment at all which is disappointing.

While TMR has made great strides in reducing environmental impact, it is uniquely positioned to make a wide-reaching impact through the state's transport network and is, in my mind, far too conservative.

Focus on sustainability is evident however innovation to strive for further sustainability goals could be improved.

It is alright.

Environmental officers work across the department to ensure ethical practices. I'm not too sure about the specifics beyond that.
