What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Not eligible for bonuses as a graduate.
Graduate, Perth - 16 Jul 2024
Salary was only very recently brought in line with the market rate in my city, but I anticipate that further increases will be slow.
Graduate, Brisbane - 13 Jul 2024
I think we have an issue with retaining talent, as other firms are able to offer more money. I think that when people become mid level lawyers, it becomes very hard to justify staying if other firms are able to offer significantly more money. This is a big issue for the firm as the firm has invested years of time and money into these lawyers.
Graduate, Melbourne - 11 Jul 2024
I think comparatively to other firms of the same caliber, the pay could definitely more in line. Other offices seem to be paid a higher amount so it would be good to be in line nationally or at least with other incredibly busy offices rather than a melbourne market rate. Bonuses I cannot talk to as i am a graduate.
Graduate, Melbourne - 11 Jul 2024
I am satisfied overall with the pay and bonus arrangements at DLA Piper.
Graduate, Melbourne - 13 Apr 2021
I feel very lucky to have a job let alone as a graduate at a law firm considering the instability we have seen over the past year. In saying that, I am very satisfied with the pay I am receiving as a graduate and have already received a bonus as a thank you for having worked through last year.
Graduate, Melbourne - 09 Apr 2021
The pay at DLA Piper is consistent with what a new graduate can expect across the market; the firm assesses graduate salaries to ensure they represent the market-rate. A thank you bonus has been given to everyone at the firm in recognition of its better-than-expected performance during COVID-19.

The best perk is the breakfast bar that we have catered for us every morning in the Melbourne office. We have recently moved to a brand new office on the Paris side of town and I have indulged nearly every morning this week. In addition to this we have a social club that organises drinks and activities every few months. If working late, we are able to order dinner or transport home. Maybe the best perk is the annual graduate trip to London - fingers crossed we make it next year!
Graduate, Sydney - 06 Apr 2021
Free breakfast provided at office.
Graduate, Sydney - 06 Apr 2021
The best perk at the firm is a recent addition for the Melbourne office. Our catering manager has started to put on a breakfast spread each morning, including avocado toast and a varied fruit platter.
