Training & Personal Development at FTI Consulting

There is a great deal of training and development programs on going throughout the year. During the onboarding process the Brisbane office received a new engagement leaving the team with no capacity to induct the new graduates. FTI flew the graduates to the Sydney office to go through the induction process there. One of the highlights of the program so far.

Formal training was useful, especially the writing course. Informal/on the job training has been extensive and been a large part of why I have enjoyed this year. I feel that there is a culture of understanding and teaching if there is work on a project I have not done before

I have gained many skills since starting with FTI. These skills include communication, teamwork, Microsoft proficiencies, analytical thinking and utilising data tools.

Internally hosted training sessions as well as externally hosted training via organisations (ARITA and TMA)

FTI provides an induction training program which introduces you to each segment of the Company and outlines the roles within these groups. Beyond this, FTI experts provide frequent training sessions on key aspects of your role e.g. dividend payouts as well as organising external professionals to come in and speak about their field of expertise. Additionally, your coach will provide frequent feedback to you and ensure your are managing your job well. On the job training is the best form of training and you will be introduced to this as you start your role!

Informal and on the job training I find the most useful and valuable. Formal training needs to be more interactive i.e. running in person interactive training sessions, rather than 1.5hr online calls where the ARITA slides are just read.

Regular training sessions without the Melbourne office and firm wide. A number of opportunities to attend off-site courses and classes. If you approach Management with a class or seminar you think will assist your development, they are highly supportive.

Regular training sessions held both internally and externally related to work. Thorough onboarding training process.
