Hall & Wilcox has an incredibly flexible working policy. Staff can work from home or in office as they please and there is no pressure to do either. The hours are very reasonable - the latest I have ever stayed back as a graduate is 7pm. There is no sense of hierarchy. Tasks are delegated to staff of all levels of seniority and there is a great sense of collaboration between them. We have a fantastic social culture - there are so many opportunities to socialise with people from all across the firm.

The firm prides itself on its culture. Everyone across the firm tries to keep each other accountable for maintaining a friendly, positive, constructive and inclusive culture. Everyone works hard but there are a lot of social events.

Most people are very welcoming and always up for a chat. Partners sit in the same area as everyone else, the 'hierarchy' doesn't feel like a thing at Hall & Wilcox H. Very collaborative which I love, always nice to bounce ideas off of each other and work together. Most people put the team first rather than themself. So easy to socialise and lots of events to do so as well.

During office hours, the firm is very vibrant and productive. Asking for help is a non issue. After hours, the firm puts a lot of effort into inclusive events and togetherness.

As mentioned earlier, the people are what makes the culture at Hall & Wilcox great. That, importantly, involves a relatively flat hierarchy within my team. Quiz is run each day is a really entertaining and joyful experience. With respect to cooperation and teamwork, one example springs to mind - we are a full service commercial law firm, which means we can draw on the expertise of many practice areas. In a trial we were running, an issue with respect to migration arose. Over lunch, we met with one of the partners in the migration practice area, who was able to direct us to relevant information which ultimately proved vital to us winning that case. With respect to after hours, we have a number of great initiatives which I have been involved in throughout the year. I am a member of the sports and social committees, which run regular events throughout the year. Some of those involve paint and sip, drag bingo, bowling, tennis, fun runs and trivia nights.

Office culture is very supportive and collaborative. There has never been an occasion where I have asked for assistance and I was rejected or demeaned by a senior. There are frequent social events, twice monthly, and are set on alternating dates to allow part time staff to take part.

The firm has a wonderful culture. There are opportunities to socialise weekly. The firm consistently runs events, whether that be Friday night drinks, the daily trivia, volunteering and team sports. There are opportunities to be involved as much or as little as you want.

Very good culture. I enjoy coming into the office because the people make it worthwhile. Does not feel very hierarchical and I (mostly) feel free to express myself.

The culture is still good, however it has seen a decline in the past few years

Culture is great, personable and easy to get along with. However, some teams are more social than others.

There is a typical law firm hierarchy, comprising of Partners, Special Counsel, Senior Associates, etc. However, regardless of titles, all individuals I have worked with have been extremely approachable and care about the development of my legal skills.

Everyone is pretty social and friendly, which makes for a comfortable working environment.

Partners are very approachable and seniors care about people development. Teamwork and cooperation is built into the way all work is done. Fantastic social scene for those that want to be involved.

This is one of the most collaborative firms I have witnessed, and whilst there is a hierarchy on paper, I am yet to find a person at the Firm who has not been approachable or had time for anyone and everyone whenever they asked. There are social activities for all (sports, arts, social committees who run events), at all levels (junior lawyers committee, social events for all ages, team based events and market sector events).

The culture is nothing I have ever experienced before. We have a sports committee, a social committee and arts committee a Junior Lawyers Committee. All of which have a yearly budget for activities and events for the firm to get involved in. They encourage people to get involved and meet and join these committees. Although there will always be a hierarchy in every workplace, Hall & Wilcox manages this very effectively. I find through hotdesking, this encourages people to communicate on a personal level and the ability to get work directly from Partners, whereas I have worked in other firms where Partners have corner offices, and it feels very hierarchical.

This is the first workplace where I can truly say that they value the culture both in the office and outside the office at events etc. They employ the right people for the company and the culture of respect, teamwork and being genuine in your actions is a high priority for the company. I was amazed that this was a company who actually did what they say they do in terms of culture. Everyone I've met is friendly, happy to have a chat, offer assistance and is there for you. Not having partners and senior lawyers in offices also promotes this culture as everyone is on a level playing field with the open plan office and hot desking.

The culture is excellent at our firm. People are encouraged to bring their true selves to work and to also have a life outside of work that is prioritized. Teamwork is evident, people help out others where it is needed and seniors provide juniors with support. Social activities are organized on a regular basis and have great attendance and are really fun.
