Due to previous work experience, I have some level of understanding of the work done by my team. Because of that, most of my work is actively working on files under the supervision of my supervising partner, my supervising partner. A day for me will probably involve writing a letter of advice, reviewing medical evidence in preparation for a trial, or instructing counsel at Court. I have a lot of independence in the work I do, but I feel very supported by my supervising partner in doing so.

Law graduate in general insurance. I was a paralegal in GI for 2.5 years prior to being a graduate. I was told that rotating through GI would be different to what I was doing as a paralegal however, this hasn't been the case, I've inherited a number of my old motor vehicle/property files and am getting little exposure to personal injury/professional indemnity which is an area of particular interest for me. I want to learn new things throughout my rotation so I am trying to settle as many old matters as possible so I have capacity for PI work.
Graduate, Brisbane - 30 Jul 2024
In my prior team it was very hands on which I enjoyed, and I was able to draft advice for clients and conduct legal research. In my current team there seems to be minimal work that the grads are involved in. However, most of the work I have been involved in has been legal research and some document management.
