How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
Work life balance has been great so far. The onus is on each individual to manage their schedule and the flexible wfh has helped immensely with this

I usually work 8.30am - 5.30pm. These are the standard hours of work expected by the company, but I feel very accommodated in extenuating circumstances e.g. doctor's appointments, leave, etc

The firm is quite flexible with work hours. Working from home is encouraged and the business is well set up for WFH, although I work in the office most days. At the beginning of my employment here, the firm provided an entire WFH office setup at no cost. I am able to leave on time when I have after-work commitments and then finish work later at home, if needed.

I generally leave when I'm meant to, but of course things pop up from time to time and I stay later. Previous manager was extremely flexible (start + end times, WFH, etc.), current manager is flexible but not as flexible as before. Flexibility is extremely important to me.

In CTP, hours are flexible and rarely need to work overtime.

The work environment is 100% flexible, meaning we can work from home whenever we wish. Regarding the hours, the firm is very encouraging of us to leave at 5.30. If we choose to work late, a partner will likely message us to check in and ask why we are working and whether we need to. It is a very good culture which minimises after hours work.

Work hours are slightly longer than 9-5 but far less in comparison to what can be excepted in commercial law. Hours can be readily moved to accommodate commitments outside of work with no workplace repercussions.

I typically spend 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office. The firm is extremely flexible and allows you to pick the days you would like to work remotely. Living over an hour away from the office I really appreciate the flexibility.

I WFH 2 days a week. Work about 40-45 hours a week. Working hours get much high after grad program

Very flexible! I really appreciate this. I often may not finish my work in the office and will complete it at night. I feel I have the power to craft my own hours (within limits).
Graduate, Melbourne - 30 Jul 2024
I typically arrive at the office at 8am and leave around 5:30-6pm.

Your work hours really depend on the work that you have and the team that you're in, but overall they're pretty good
Graduate, Sydney - 30 Jul 2024
Flexible work hours - have to attend the office on your team day and be in when needed. But flexibility choosing work days in the office and at home
Graduate, Melbourne - 30 Jul 2024
Hours are flexible - We have a hybrid work environment (from home and office), though I prefer being in the office. Further, where someone may need to log off for an hour for an appointment, this is accepted and people make up the time as required. Everyone acknowledges that there is life beyond work and it has been a healthy balance that is encouraged so far.

The work hours are very flexible. It obviously depends on the work and the team, but from what I heard growing up, that you live and breath in offices, Hall & Wilcox manages this especially for Graduates.

I've never had any issues with taking leave (annual, sick or study) when required, or to leave early/arrive late and make up my hours when required. The company, and my team, are extremely flexible which helps to achieve a work/life balance. As I will likely have children in the future, it helps me feel confident knowing that I can make up hours in my own time if I need to take a child to an afternoon activity etc.

My team is reasonably flexible when it comes to hours, as long as you are hitting your targets and getting your work done.

Hall & Wilcox is extremely flexible and clear on their expectations, especially of graduates. Working from home is not discouraged or penalised on employees. My general hours are between 8am (earliest) and 6.30pm (latest).
Graduate, Sydney - 04 Jul 2024
I work a minimum of 7.6hrs a day however, sometimes more (I do not mind). We have the luxury of also choosing to work from home
