What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
Pay is top-level for graduates in Perth. No bonuses for graduates.
Graduate, Perth - 22 Aug 2024
My pay is competitive with market salaries.
Graduate, Perth - 20 Aug 2024
Bonuses are not available at Graduate level, and tend to be pretty low in the legal industry anyway.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Aug 2024
Compared with other firms, HSF compensates their graduates incredibly well.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Aug 2024
I'm very satisfied with the salary and feel privileged, but I think the salary increase from being a graduate to when you get admitted could be a bit better, considering that change can basically mean a significant increase in the hours we are required to work (as opposed to being under LSA requirements).
Graduate, Sydney - 07 Aug 2024
The pay is below market, but the billable hour targets are the highest in the market (7.5 billable hours per day).
Solicitor, Melbourne - 13 Nov 2023
On par with other top tier firms.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Nov 2023
Due to the economy, it has been a bit meh.
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
Pay is 'at-market', but in truth should be at the top of the market (particularly accounting for hours worked).
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Nov 2023
Competitive, especially as a graduate lawyer, however you can't get bonuses as a graduate.
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
The pay is very good. We got a bonus for being admitted into the legal profession. And all the grads are in lock-step so that there is no feeling of competition or stress to do well during the rotations. Only once we have settled into where we want to go does the pay become unlocked and we can earn pay rises.
Graduate, Perth - 08 Nov 2023
Starting graduate salary is pretty good.
Graduate, Perth - 08 Nov 2023
I think the pay is pretty good, though it is not market leading. Given the cost-of-living crisis, I would certainly like to see it higher. I am not sure what the bonus situation looks like.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Ubers, firm meals, wellness/wfh equipment fund
Graduate, Sydney - 03 Sep 2024
All of the above
Graduate, Perth - 22 Aug 2024
We get various allowances in lieu of free gym access. Otherwise, I am not fully across the firm's perks.
Graduate, Perth - 20 Aug 2024
We have a generous parental leave policy, free firm dinners in the office
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Aug 2024
All of the expense funds we get access to. For example, we have a physical fund, a wellbeing fund and I used that for gym membership that was discounted because of HSF's partnership with them.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Aug 2024
We have great perks such as after-hours meals and Ubers, but insurance could have been a great addition, especially considering that many of the employees in our company are international and not entitled to Medicare, and must incur those expenses themselves.
Graduate, Sydney - 07 Aug 2024
Generous firm lunches - tends to be an office lunch once a fortnight. Ubers home for work after 7pm. WFH and wellbeing allowances.
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
Firm lunch every Thursday, Fridays off to complete PLT. So much free food.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Nov 2023
Pretty good, we get a health and wellbeing allowance, a WFH allowance, uber expenses, after hours meals
Graduate, Perth - 10 Nov 2023
Ubers home after hours, generous annual health and wellbeing budget, in-house kitchen for dinners if you are working late. Firm-wide lunch every Thursday.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Nov 2023
Whole office lunches once a week. Uber rides post 7pm. Free meals post 6:30pm. Internal Cafe in the office and young professional networks that host events post in the office and out of the office.
Graduate, Perth - 08 Nov 2023
Ubers are firm paid after 7, and meals after 8. There is also a lot of benefits which the firm is proud of and displays in an annual 'firm expo'.
Graduate, Perth - 08 Nov 2023
Weekly firm lunch is a popular one. Their paid parental leave policy is very generous and highly valued.
Solicitor, Sydney - 07 Nov 2023
We get a small sum for wholistic wellbeing and health care each year. Ubers are available on a reimbursement basis if you work past 7pm. Paternity leave is market now.
