About the Role
The Graduate ICT Engineer opportunity in Honeywell Building Solutions is focused on delivery of works to existing customer sites. This role is responsible for the design, configuration, deployment, commissioning and on-going support of ICT infrastructure including Networks, Virtual Environment infrastructure as well as a focus on Cyber Security and IoT. Tying in with Honeywell’s core technologies, the Graduate ICT engineer will need to have full system design and end operation in mind at all time.
This role will require the successful applicant to learn to make decisions and run customer sites with less hands-on guidance; taking ownership of the delivery with customer service excellence in mind at all times to become a trusted service advisor to our customers. You’ll enjoy a wide range of experiences across commercial and government buildings, health care facilities and correction facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the designing, engineering, configuring, implementing, commissioning and supporting of ICT infrastructure and connected services (Server, Storage, Network, Virtual Platforms), Enterprise Applications (Honeywell Software: EBI, DVM, EM), and ELV Integration at both new and existing client sites.
- Provide technical knowledge on integration requirements to help support new and existing sites, particularly in the connected services space. This will also focus heavily on integrating systems via open building protocols (eg. BACNet, Modbus, OPC) into Honeywell software platforms (Enterprise Building Integration, Energy Manager, Digital Video Manager).
- Develop site-specific documentation including configuration, engineering, O&M, testing and commissioning manuals and procedures.
- Ensure high availability and performance of Honeywell maintained IT services by diagnosing complex problems, tuning to improve performance, maintaining and supporting the underlying infrastructure, monitoring of network and system intrusions, provision of switch and router configuration management.
- Protect the integrity of the Honeywell implemented software, server and network infrastructure and services by managing access, monitoring global ICT security news and technological developments.
- Ensure project (PMP/Prince2) & service (ITIL) management methodologies are followed in the delivery of ICT packages, and appropriate change management for server software upgrades, significant system changes and implementation of any new Honeywell product features or versions.
- Develop effective working relationships with Honeywell’s Software Support Group (PTAC), systems users and software vendors, to ensure systems can be well maintained, used effectively, and that requests for action to correct system problems can be attended to effectively and promptly.·
Key Experience & Capabilities:
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Mathematics or Engineering)
- Basic understanding of Windows based software
- Basic understanding of virtualisation
- Basic understanding of Operational Technology systems such as BMS, Security and CCTV.
- Strong PC skills, knowledge of Microsoft software and network-based systems on various operating systems
- A definable passion for technology
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Some software language experience is highly advantageous
