I would say to just research what the company does and the different services we provide. The candidate selection is less to do with direct experience in the type of role, and more focused on what soft skills you can bring to the role such as customer service, written communication skills, the ability to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment. An understanding of different parts of the world and the kinds of risks that may be involved in travel/working there would also be useful.
