How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
You are expected to work 40 hour weeks with an additional few hours per week for self development. Some weeks are longer than others. If you week consistently long hours, you will be given recharge leave.

My company is flexible. Sometimes there are longer days (until 7pm for example) but the self-managed approach means it's up to each employee how they use their work hours (within reason of course).

It is understandable that as a management consultant, you will have to sometimes work more than 8 hours in a day, or more than 40 hours in a week, as it is the nature of project based work. These instances are not necessarily the norm however, and you are able to work from home quite freely, and somewhat choose the hours you work, so you do have some freedom to make a schedule that works for you.

Nous is extremely flexible. They maintain that you should work when you work best. They are accommodating for appointments that you have in the middle of the day and really trust their workers to self-manage their schedule. I usually work 8:00 to 5/5:30pm during an average work period. Sometimes this will fluctuate to meet client and project demands but Nous also offers recharge leave to combat the busyness consultants feel.

The firm is entirely results driven. Management and the company are interested in the work you produce as opposed to the inputs into the work (i.e., what time you leave the office/turn off your laptop). You are allowed to work at times that suit you. If you aren't a morning person, you can make that known and the teams you're in will accommodate. As long as you honor your roles and responsibilities!

Very flexible. Sometimes I have long days of 12 hours but often it is a very straightforward 9-5.

The company is very flexible with hours. Self-management is a huge part of the company culture, which means that every day it is entirely up to me what hours I work and where I work from. I am also able to do personal activities during the day, such as dentist appointments, exercise, etc, as long as I meet the required hours expected from me during the week.

You typically spend 8 hrs doing client work and then another 1 or so doing other things. Hours spent depends project to project.

Nous expects 8 hours of client work, and 0.5-2 hours of self development every day. I'd say the company is very flexible because it's all self-managed, so if you need to fit in a doctors appointment or anything like that, even run an errand or an exercise class, it's up to you to balance your time and meet all of your commitments. I'd say I typically work 7.5-8 hours of client work, with maybe 0.5 for other things (internal company meetings etc) a day.
