Please provide further information on diversity with respect to women, ethnic minorities and LGBT. Please comment on issues such as recruitment, retention, promotion, child care, maternity leave, etc.
I think there is a good balance within my unit of men/women. Women also make up the management roles which is good to see. We also have a range of people from different ethnic backgrounds or are part of LGBTQIA+ community. The work there is pretty stable, a few people in the office have worked in that unit for 10-20 years. There is opportunities for going up the ranks or relieving for sworn officers. For unsown staff the opportunities are more limited. They have also initiated a culture action group which is looking to improve the work culture all around by having staff reps present on issues raised across staff who may not otherwise be heard.

Within the DPE women are 50-50. There are many women in senior and the executive roles. They have a strong focus on diversity and respect. I have not heard of any issues with recruitment, retention, promotion, childcare or maternity leave.

Office is fairly diverse, however these are mainly in low to mid positions. Not too many culturally diverse people in the higher positions. There are a lot of women in leadership roles in my department so that's cool.

Our office is predominantly women, and has lots of flexibility for parents etc. From what I have seen everyone is very accepting and creates a safe working environment.

Are a variety of Employee Resource Groups. The policies reflects inclusive and diversity. A core focus overall on the employees. I feel that the NSW Government does a lot more than I expected for employees.

Diversity is a huge priority in the NSW government. It is expected that everyone treats all others with respect, regardless of any differences. There are proactive programs to ensure this is embodied, rather than just lip service. There are groups for LGBTIQA+ staff, staff with a disability, those from different cultural backgrounds and more. This commitment to diversity manifests itself in every aspect of the workplace, including the recruitment process.

I am one. Can't say that I was attracted to this job via targeted comms or anything. I'm not too sure they do that well...I am from greater west syd and can't say that I have meant anyone else from where I'm from. Everyone I've met seems to be from pretty privileged areas.

Accommodations in the assessment process for employment. Disability outreach program for summer and winter interns. I feel that NSW Government wants skilled people regardless of their background and a more diverse workforce is more highly skilled workforce. It can bring values and beliefs of the community that is served.
