Office & Workplace at NSW Government

8.6
8.6 rating for Workplace, based on 41 reviews
Please comment on your company's office space, location and facilities. And while we're at it, please tell us a little about the dress code.
Location isn't the best - it feels like it is in the middle of nowhere and the walls in the hallways are sparse. Could do with some colour or pictures or something to make it lively. Facilities wise, there is an onsite gym which is great to use especially because of travel time to work cutting into available free time after work. A coffee van comes around 1-2 times a day. Some colleagues sell chocolates/ice cream/drinks etc but other than that, lunch and coffee options are nil and always have to travel out to nearby shops if you want to purchase something. Someone usually did a lunch run every day which was great.

They have multiple locations, and the offices are very modern and great.

Best ones out of all the offices I've seen personally or heard of from other people in government

The facilities are excellent but the location is terrible, not in major CBD and far from train station. There is no formal dress code.

Dress code is pretty lax, business casual I would describe it as. The office space is appropriate and nice.

Maitland office is 10/10. Newcastle office is 7/10 - natural light doesn't reach a lot of parts of the office.

Extremely clean in a nice area of Parramatta. Dress code is corporate and the open office provides a great work area.

I work in the newer office space. It's open plan and we hot-desk. The office is clean, open and near on all the desks can see a window, which for me is ideal. The dress code is fairly lax, suits are not required, smart jeans and a neat shirt are not uncommonly worn, but otherwise business casual is the norm.

The office that the Long Service Corporation is located within is relatively new, with good amenities. The dress code for Sydney, in the major locations and offices (and parliament) is far more formal than it is in the regional offices, such as Gosford.

One of the most beautiful buildings. Dress smart and sharp.
Experienced, Parramatta - 12 May 2023
Office spaces very nice and great facilities in the lunch area. Work in the city and Parramatta. Dress code is smart casual, though people wear range of things from more smart to more casual. Depends what you are doing that day as well.

NSW Gov has multiple office locations. Mine is one of the newly built ones and its really really nice. Complimentary tea and coffee. Most people wear smart casual on a daily basis.

Not too formal, appropriate pants and a polo/button up, maybe even a t shirt. Office is a tad small, with hotdesking happening as too many staff for the size of office. Location is ok, mostly accessible by public transport with some walking involved.

Office is very new and comfortable. Dress code is probably business casual but no one seems to enforce strict rules.

The office is in a gorgeous heritage listed building, but has little natural light. It is also not set up in the most conducive way - ie. management offices are on the other side of office to where the open plan booths are. However, we are located in the CBD which is fantastic for public transport, food, and events after work. The dress code is relaxed, business casual most days with casual fridays!

Dress code: Mostly smart casual (button up, but no need for tie or blazer)

The office space is nice, though many staff work from home so can often be empty. There is a sizeable kitchen area, though utensils are not well provided. Dress is generally business casual, except for external events.
