Our Next Graduate Engineer/Geoscientist
We are looking for our next Graduate Engineer/Geoscientist to join the team. This graduate position is permanent full-time based in Brisbane or Perth.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Apply a sound understanding of mining engineering/scientific principles.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports in the area of technical discipline.
- Prepare technical components of mine and mine closure planning, including pit and dump designs, reserving, dump reshaping, mine scheduling, and cost modeling.
- Prepare conceptual models in support of mine waste storage facility closure plan development.
- Review technical reports to extract key information in support of model development.
- Coordinate with Okane closure specialists to integrate geochemical, hydrologic, and hydrogeologic conditions in mine planning scenarios.
- Plan and complete field investigations and/or studies.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise.
- Demonstrate care about the wellbeing of yourself and others, through actively participating in OHS activities/requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mining, geotechnical, environmental) or Bachelors Degree in Science (Geology or environmental science)
- Mining Operations or Mining Consulting knowledge is considered an asset.
- Experience using Deswik (ideal) or other mine planning software is considered an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and experience with report writing.
- Demonstrate an ability to apply advanced problem-solving skills in highly conceptual scenarios.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible (sometimes irregular) hours to coordinate with staff and clients in different time zones.
