Please describe the interview process and assessments.
Applied through the GradX program. Sent through my CV and cover letter and then progressed through the aptitude tests. Progressed through these and then went in person for an interview.

Interview process was rigorous but fair.

The GradX application process is very thorough. It starts with a questionnaire and an aptitude test, and if you perform well and have a strong resume you get shortlisted into a group of ~30 others. The company then flies everyone to a major city such as Sydney, and conducts interviews and group tasks etc. to further assess the applicants, and introduce them to the company. A few weeks later you will be notified if your application was successful. It's stressful but it allows the company to only take on high performing individuals.

An online application, followed by online gamified aptitude testing. Then a group and individual interview on the same day. Offers were sent out after this.

There were a number of assessments to get into gradX, including logical assessments and communication style/ability assessments. This was followed by a group interview. For a grad program I found this extremely comforting as it was not myself in a room with a number of important people but also a number of people in my position. From memory, there was also a female at each of these stages which is very comforting for a female in a very male dominated field.

The hiring process was organised well. There was a solid session organised where there was a team exercise and also a private interview. Questions were technical in nature but didnt need a technical physical response. i think this was perfect as it allows a response to be tailored and involve technical conversations but did not allow one to have to complete an analysis or mathematical analysis on the fly. This reflects on the company well because they try to account for people who might not be good on the spot with mathematical analyses.

The GradX interview process was actually enjoyable. I believe there was an early screening/questionnaire.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Apr 2022
What questions were you asked in your interviews?
Standard interview questions like how do I work in a team, how do I resolve conflicts etc.
Graduate, Sydney - 12 Sep 2024
I was asked to give examples of times when I have solved technical problems, adapted to change etc. There's also a group task to assess how applicants work as a team.

What are your strengths and weaknesses? How do you approach problem solving? What is your background?
Graduate, Sydney - 14 Aug 2024
My interviews were conducted approximately 4 years ago so I do not remember much of them. I do remember in the group interview there was an ethical conundrum posed and in groups we had to come up with an answer, I believe this was in part to assess communication and problem solving in group settings.

Questions were divided into two generalised topics; the first topic was cultural/team/personal responses and the second were technical questions.
Graduate, Adelaide - 04 Aug 2022
As an example a cultural question could have been 'explain a time when you had a disagreement with a colleague/fellow student and discuss how you moved passed the disagreement'. a technical question might have been tailored around my honours project/capstone project and how i used analytical thinking to solve a particular problem.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
Do some research on the company prior to interviewing. Tailor your cover letter specifically to the company rather than copy pasting from another cover letter.
Graduate, Sydney - 12 Sep 2024
Research Raytheon Australia prior to the assessment, be a good team member (i.e make sure everyone has a say, and no one is being overbearing or too quiet), and seem excited.
Graduate, Canberra - 14 Aug 2024
Do some research into the company's product lines & what projects they are specifically working on.
Graduate, Sydney - 14 Aug 2024
My main advice would be to be comfortable with yourself, the company (from my experience) preferences your ability to communicate, socialise and relate over your technical knwoledge- if you've made it to interviews, they are happy with your technical knowledge (and they should be if you have studied the degree)
