Please describe the interview process and assessments.
I came through an internship, which was a very informal process. I have not been privy to recent interviews, but have seen the successful applicants which showed the interview process is not as mature as it needs to be. To my knowledge there are no assessments in the interview process.
Intermediate, Perth - 31 Jul 2024
Fast response. no complaints.
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jul 2024
The interview process for me took place partly in COVID affected times. My first interview was an online interview with the two principals of the Albury office, before an in person interview where I was informed that I was hired at the end. I found the process easy and simple
Intern, Albury - 25 Jul 2024
After submitting my resume, I was invited to give a video interview. After this, I was asked to come in for a face-to-face interview. After the face-to-face interview, I had to complete a timed assessment.
Undergraduate, Perth - 22 Jul 2024
I highly rate the interview process and assessments, and I was always being updated along the way as I progress until recruitment.
Graduate, Port Lincoln - 19 Jul 2024
Was surprised to get in in the first case (Feel as if I stuffed up the interview a bit). It was simple online assessment + individual & Group assessment when invited to the office
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
The interview process began with an initial assessment, which I successfully completed, leading to a face-to-face interview. During the interview, I engaged in discussions about my skills, experiences, and how they aligned with the role's requirements. The assessment phase focused on evaluating my technical proficiency and problem-solving abilities, while the face-to-face interview provided an opportunity to showcase my interpersonal skills and discuss my fit within the organization.
Graduate, Sydney - 18 Jul 2024
I began working at RSM as an intern so my hiring process was streamlined and I can't really comment on the formal hiring process.
Graduate, Perth - 18 Jul 2024
I was directly engaged and didn't have to go through regular recruitment processes. That being said, receiving my contract, signing it, onboarding etc was all good.
Graduate, Canberra - 18 Jul 2024
The process was straight-forward and relatively short.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
Interview process involved aptitude testing and an interview process, no specific assessments in relation to the future role.
Graduate, Brisbane - 18 Jul 2024
When I came in for the interview I was so nervous because I was in the interview with Trevor and Kara in the board room. I sent all my documentation online through the RSM work page which I think is easy and more reliable.
Graduate, Geraldton - 18 Jul 2024
The interview process was as follows: a test (mainly testing your soft-skills), a recorded interview, and a standard in-person interview with the most senior person from your team.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
I walked into the interview and it seemed like they didn't really know what was happening, but I took it as the interview was more of a layover test. After that I got a call for a second interview and now here we are.
Graduate, Ballarat - 18 Jul 2024
My interview with Busselton was great but prior to that I applied online and got rejected had to do tests which I didn't like and found was unnecessary in comparison to my interview at a Big 4 Firm.
Graduate, Perth - 18 Jul 2024
Quite easy
Graduate, Sydney - 18 Jul 2024
Had an interview, got my contract emailed to me and then I started.
Graduate, Moora - 18 Jul 2024
I cant speak how the interview process go, as I asked Angus if would be able to work as an intern, so I can make money whilst learning before I go to Uni. However it took about a month to start actually working and signing all the documents and deeds. The 3 month probation review is a good reporting period as it outlines the performance aspect of your work and your attitude.
Intern, Busselton - 18 Jul 2024
I did not participate in an interview or the process. Have been family friends with one of the partners for years
Undergraduate, Wagga - 18 Jul 2024
It was good.
Graduate, Northam - 18 Jul 2024
What questions were you asked in your interviews?
It is very causal chat, that happened over 1.5 years ago and simply can't remember.
Intermediate, Perth - 31 Jul 2024
Five years in future 5 weaknesses interest in company? example to solve a problem...
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jul 2024
Why I applied, goals, why RSM
Intern, Albury - 25 Jul 2024
The video interview consisted of questions that asked me to describe situations where I had to react in a certain manner, or overcome an issue. The face-to-face interview was more conversational, and whilst similar questions were asked too, the questions mainly revolved around my availability, and personal interests.
Undergraduate, Perth - 22 Jul 2024
Questions were not technical, knowing that I am just coming in at a graduate level and quite green. I really enjoyed the interview; one of the reasons I decided, if I get this one, I'm definitely taking it
Graduate, Port Lincoln - 19 Jul 2024
The question I got stumped on was "Define Machine Learning"
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
In my interviews, questions mainly centered around my previous experience, focusing on specific projects I've been involved in and challenges I've navigated. They also asked about what aspects of my previous roles I found most fulfilling
Graduate, Sydney - 18 Jul 2024
I was asked about my studies, my areas of interest, and how I would approach problem solving in certain situations.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
Working background, previous experience to explain problem solving and thought process, questions to ask how much I knew about the role and specifics of the job I was applying for, a questions about the firm.
Graduate, Brisbane - 18 Jul 2024
I was asked about my previous job, what I did. What I did at uni, how long I was at university, what I studied, my experience and any Accounting software's I used.
Graduate, Geraldton - 18 Jul 2024
I was mainly asked various facts about myself, previous jobs, and what I did at university.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
What questions should I be asked.
Graduate, Ballarat - 18 Jul 2024
I work in a regional office though so I felt like I somewhat already had the job. I had very good university grades and you don't get many applicants out here.
Graduate, Moora - 18 Jul 2024
I was asked what I learnt from Accounting and finance from school. I was also asked why I wanted this job for my gap year.

Graduate, Brisbane - 26 Jun 2023
Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
You need to have worked in a professional service background, otherwise you will be shocked as to what your role really is.
Intermediate, Perth - 31 Jul 2024
Be honest and open. The company rather hire a person with no experience but was easy to work with than to hire someone difficult with experience and knowledge.
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Jul 2024
I would recommend having some professional clothes to interview in, prettying up your resume with all education no matter how useless it may seem, practise standard interview questions
Intern, Albury - 25 Jul 2024
Using the STAR method for situational questions is beneficial. Other than that, I would recommend them to relax, and display as much of their personality as appropriately possible.
Undergraduate, Perth - 22 Jul 2024
Yes, just be themselves. Be authentic, have a read through the values of the company, and try to relate to it, that's a great starting point!
Graduate, Port Lincoln - 19 Jul 2024
I think just being honest is the best preparation
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
Demonstrate that you're interested in participating in the work and working in the team.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
Best preparation is doing aptitude testing activities in advance, also during the interview have a baseline understanding for differences between RSM and big 4.
Graduate, Brisbane - 18 Jul 2024
Read about the company you are applying for and don't get nervous. Being nervous makes you forget and sometimes you don't say the things you wanted to say and when the interview is over, and you think about and you think to yourself that you should've said this and that.
Graduate, Geraldton - 18 Jul 2024
Get to know the person interviewing you, do abit of background research on them and make sure you check at a high-level the firms values, ensure yours too align with them.
Graduate, Melbourne - 18 Jul 2024
Learn how to talk to people and she'll be right. Skills here are developed not expected.
Graduate, Ballarat - 18 Jul 2024
Analyse the job description and do your research
Graduate, Sydney - 18 Jul 2024
I would suggest bringing a smile and a positive attitude. I feel like it's not so much the qualifications you have although lots of qualifications are a bonus to have, but having a positive personality is what this company wants. For example: having a high work ethic, and always finding something nice to say or being passionate about what you are wanting to do.
Intern, Busselton - 18 Jul 2024
Ensure that you know the community in which you are attempting to gain employment. Develop your networks.
Undergraduate, Wagga - 18 Jul 2024
Be confident in your ability to speak
Graduate, Brisbane - 18 Jul 2024
Be yourself, at the end of the day, the partners want to see if they shape you to the way the company wants
Assistant, Perth - 18 Jul 2024
You can try faking it and making it. But that won't bring you happiness in the long run. Be yourself.
Graduate, Albany - 13 Jul 2023
Read it through the job description, do some research on main responsibilities, laws and regulations applied to that area
Midlevel, Perth - 28 Jun 2023
I think that it is important to emphasise that it is important to be a likeable and sociable person to work in this sort of environment.
Graduate, Brisbane - 28 Jun 2023
Be yourself and transparent
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Jun 2023
