CCS projects are really interesting and will be a big part of the company's future.

Providing it makes or saves money, or buys us some positive opinion we will make an effort. We are not always forthcoming, open and honest about our mistakes. Ultimately we do try and CCS could be a net win for Santos, Australia and the World.

There has been lots of push and KPIs in all parts of the business related to decarbonisation and emissions reduction and on the frontline we see there's lots of projects going ahead to support this such as electrification projects to reduce fuel gas consumption and also the Moomba CCS project. The commitment is currently there it will just be interesting to see how the projects perform and whether they meet the expectations of the company and how the company reacts should they not will be interesting.

Demonstration of willingness and wanting to support the energy transition to providing clean and sustainable fuels on a national, and global scale. Annual sustainability report and climate report demonstrating how the company is addressing sustainability/environmental issues and commitments/status to international goals (i.e., 2050 Net Zero/Paris Agreement).
Graduate, Adelaide - 24 Jun 2024
the companies big strategy for the future is to become one of the biggest Carbon sequestration companies targeting reducing greenhouse gas emissions to a net zero

There have been some efforts - e.g. getting rid of single use plastics. There is no coffee machine, only pod machines. This means more single use plastics, rather than bags of coffee beans. There is no option to fan dry your hands in the bathroom, only paper towel.

Projects such as CCS are underway, but management has not made any commitments to them (only 1 has been FID).
Graduate, Perth - 18 Oct 2023
Santos genuinely shows a desire to offset emissions and target lower GHG emissions through technology like CCS and reduction in deforestation in places like PNG. Efforts are always appreciated but require the staff to undertake the technical and commercial work to make these efforts not just company Net Zero goals, but reality.

They try to reduce emissions wherever possible
Graduate, Brisbane - 04 Oct 2023
My rating may seem odd, but I think Santos is really well positioned to make changes with CCS. From the projects I have worked, I have seen real commitment to minimising our impact, often at great expense to ourselves.

Considering the industry the company works in it is difficult to rate this highly. We do have Carbon Capture and Storage projects that are being built which will help to reduce our environmental footprint.
Graduate, Adelaide - 04 Oct 2023
The company used to have very green intentions with proposed hydrogen development and net zero goals. It seems the focus is turning back to more production and less environmentally sustainable goals :(
