Application Process & Interviews at Service Stream

First, need to send resume and CV to the company's HR. Then, after that, there will be an interview if short-listed. Then, if you pass interview then company will send you a contract letter, then and couple of other details that needs to be completed in Workday. Once, contract is signed, you are hired.

Contract Manager interviewed me and assessment was done within a week.

Truly phenomenal and supportive in the sense that the applicant feels genuinely seen and heard and is able to showcase the skills and attributes.

The process was fairly similar to other graduate roles i had applied for, and like the rest, the application process starts early the year prior to starting.

I was first interviewed online by Emily. Then few weeks later I was asked to meet Mary and Mudassar (Pavements Manager).

Two interviews with the HR and hiring managers.

Typically interview process was smooth with following process: 1. Technical interview 2. Medical and background check 3. Interaction with managers from different division of company 4. Corporate induction 5. Project induction

It was straight forward process, doesn't have to do online recorded interview, so, much easier for me.

I had to send my resume. Then I got short-listed. There was an interview after they verify all my documents. Then, I got hired email notification by my Hiring manager. Then they set-up my workday where I had completed my profile to start the job.

It was long time ago; I barely remember that. One question that I still remember was: What were my interests and what skills do I possess?

My knowledge about unsealed network and what is my goal when I am at the age of the contract manager.

Examples of when I showed initiative, worked in a team etc. What set the Ignite Grad Program apart from other Grad programs. Was also asked about the different type of assignments I did in uni and how I handled challenges/difficulties etc

The questions were mostly behavioural like providing examples of skills attained

During my first interview with Emily, she asked me questions like: 1- Tell me something about yourself. 2- What do you know about us (Service Stream) 2- How did you manage problems in your previous jobs? 3- How did manage situations with your colleagues/ managers during stressful situations? 4- In your previous job, have you applied any innovative ideas to the company's operations.? During my second interview in Rockdale office with Mary and Mudassar, I was asked about in details of what I did in my previous jobs and if I would be happy to work in Pavements (given that I previously worked on building projects and not on roads.) Please note, I might be paraphrasing some of the questions.

The STAR Method of Behavioral Interviewing

make specific career plans for our industry.

I was asked following questions in the interview: 1. Tell me about yourself? 2. My work experience. 3. What were my responsibilities as maintenance engineer in previous role? 4. If I have experience working in transport/road?

I don't remember.

What is my salary expectation are? What is my previous role? How did I hear about SSMC? Do I know Bluebeam? And so on....

Be honest. Prepare a lot, make yourself comfortable, and confidence.

Preapare and learn whats the team and department they will be working for since Service Stream has different project and different department.

Be yourself and research about the company. They want people who are genuine and truly keen to join the business.

Do your background research on the company and understand why you'd like to work for the business. Additionally, practicing behavioural questions and have examples ready of how you have demonstrated these skills

My recommendation would be to know what the company does. That itself would help a candidate to find a common ground between his experience (work/life) and the company's requirements.

express yourself confidently and steadily, learn to highlight your strengths.

Candidates should read the full job description before applying. Most graduates try applying multiple application thinking at least one would accept it. I believe it hard for selection if the candidate's qualification and experience doesn't match with job description.

If someone is applying graduate program (engineering stream), most of the work is site based and need to be ready for it.

Be genuine and don't be afraid to ask question you don't understand. Make a habit of making notes.
