could be more detailed and split up over chunks instead of a whole week. didn't really help with the work
Graduate, Melbourne - 23 Aug 2024
graduate retreat which is a national event with the entire 2024 cohort of graduates where we do technical training. we have our very own IFRS advisor who gives us training on accounting standards

I find the formal training as fun as I get the chance to meet other grads from other states. However, it was pretty heavy to have a full day training for few days straight since there are a lot to take in.

The graduate training that we get fortnightly is really good as it helps us understand the basic concepts of different topics, however the roundtable training is a bit hard as it is just on random topics and as a grad since we have not touched on those topics in actual client work, it is hard for us to understand what they are talking about.

We have fortnightly grad technical training which is super beneficial. you are learning in more depth about the work you are doing day to day and different situations that can arise. We also have division wide trainings along with tax catch ups so we stay up to date with any changes in the law and requirements.
Graduate, Perth - 19 Aug 2024
I'm happy with the development we have received so far. we have technical training once a fortnight as well as a graduate program training day where we learnt a lot about soft skills and skills needed within the workplace. I feel like within my team, I could be receiving more feedback on what I need to improve on/ what I am doing well.
Graduate, Melbourne - 16 Aug 2024
The training is covered with a lot of basic topics and relating to work examples and exercises are provided which makes it useful.
Graduate, Sydney - 15 Aug 2024
I think most of the things I have learned have been on the job, however my firm places a lot of time and energy on holding training sessions. These often bolster my understanding of a particular subject and are quite valuable resources.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
Our tax training held every Thursday, and we also have a Tech Talk training which is specifically for graduate and intermediate. The skills that I picked up is the technical skills which is helpful in performing the jobs.
Other (Please specify) - Intermediate accountant, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
There are many trainings in different levels. All of them useful and meaningful.
Graduate, Brisbane - 15 Aug 2024
The training on the job could be a bit more structured, and as the main office is in Melbourne, it can be difficult sometimes to participate and get the full impact of formal training held in Melbourne, as it done remotely in Sydney.
Graduate, Sydney - 10 Aug 2023
The training and development programmes are great, we have just recently been given a list of the different formal training that we can choose to receive, such as Business Writing. I look forward to these as it is a way to learn more important work skills.
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Aug 2023
The training programs were good however, I feel like they were taken a bit late into our graduate program as we had already had some experience on the systems we use
Graduate, Melbourne - 10 Aug 2023
I think we are given lots of informal training opportunities whenever we get given something new and the tax department also has regular technical training
Graduate, Melbourne - 09 Aug 2023
The trainings were done very well but I feel ran a bit late into the graduate program as we had already used some of the programs and knew the basics.
Graduate, Melbourne - 08 Aug 2023
mostly on the job training, would be better for some more formal training
Graduate, Melbourne - 08 Aug 2023
There are many formal training opportunities focused on both soft and hard skills and constant informal opportunities to learn.
Graduate, Melbourne - 08 Aug 2023
The training we did was okay, but the format was something I could not adapt to. I learn by doing a task a few times myself. But the training was basically just listening to a PowerPoint for a few days. However, to be fair to the in-house trainers, this was their first time training the graduates, and I'm sure they will improve.
Graduate, Melbourne - 07 Aug 2023
Formal training is frequent and well structured. More on the job training when first starting would have been beneficial.
