Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
A number of my grad buddies have found permanent positions. I have not yet had that conversation with my manager. Many members of Stockland that I have met have been around for many years. My manager also helps out with planning the right steps for career growth. I assume that would also be the case for other teams, but I have not had this conversation with them.

There is a lot of opportunity to grow in your career here at Stockland & everyone is also looking out for others to give them the opportunity to progress where they can.

This is not applicable to me yet.

Generally guaranteed a role, just might not be in your desired team due to resourcing etc.

So many different pathways can be explored at Stockland, definitely looking forward to working my way through them!

I am unsure about my career prospects at this stage, I want to develop more skills in my current role.

Promotion opportunities depend on what asset class you are part of and its structure. Opportunities are quite high when you're earlier in your career

Feels as though there is limited career progression

Stockland's graduate program offers a permanent position after completion of the program. This means that after my 3-4 rotations, I know that I will be able to settle into a team based off my interests and overall career goals. As a Legal Graduate, my next step would be to move into a Legal Counsel role, pending completion of my Practical Legal Training (which Stockland also supports).

I'm satisfied in my current role now as I can see how I can progress, and feel very supported by my current manager.

Moving up in your role generally requires an opening in the team (i.e., someone to leave), or an expansion of the business, rather than progression based on job excellence.

I think that the promotion opportunities are again dependent on a lot of things such as the current market conditions that the company is operating in, the expected future workflow that can be anticipated from current market conditions and company strategy etc. Overall, I think that promotions/ career progression opportunities are possible but it also depends on how well the business is operating at that time. Stockland will always look to hire/ promote from within so it does want to retain talent.

Managers here at Stockland will see your abilities and push you in the right direction that you would need to progress in your career. I have personally had amazing experiences working on projects outside of my team that my manager put me in, and they have been instrumental in getting people to know me, my abilities, and my values. My manager, Stacey, is perhaps the best at this out there :)

Opportunity for promotion will only be available after our third rotation. However there are lots of promotions within Stockland that occur, we just have to ensure we focus on our development and also build good rapport with other staff
Graduate, Melbourne - 04 Jul 2023
Career progression is very transparent here. you will meet people who have all started in grad programs and are now managers, directors, etc

Pretty hopeful about possibility of promotion and progressing my career at Stockland. I believe if you put in the work, you will be recognised and rewarded.

Promoting from within is something I have seen quite a lot within the business. To move up you will need to have talks with you managers so they are aware of your feelings. Progression can also come from the team creating new roles as you roll off the graduate program or look to change departments.

As a graduate I have no experience in moving up the ranks - but there is certainly room to grow.

A clear idea of, and commitment to your aspirations and passions, alongside hard work and the establishment of good relationships.
