What you will do
As an Actuarial graduate within TAL, you will be responsible for supporting and collaborating with the Actuarial teams on analytical tasks and commercial thinking to optimise outcomes for TAL and our customers.
Having exposure to Individual Risk Group Risk and Finance you could be working on the following:
- Assisting in the reporting, monitoring, and designing of insurance products
- Valuing and modelling the economic capital, liabilities, and assets on behalf of the organisation.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance with statutory requirements
- Advising the business of the commercial and risk implications, (actuarial risk)
- Contributing towards a culture of process improvement
Who we are looking for:
- Strong academic record (distinction average or above) in a mathematical, finance field ideally with a major in Actuarial studies
- Desire to work in the life insurance industry
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Well-rounded background with experience across community and / or extra-curricular activities
- Curious mindset, a willingness to learn how things work and a passion for making things better.
- Interest in roles that not only embrace analytical skills but are also commercial and customer focused.
- Leadership qualities developed through high school, university, work experience and / or extracurricular activities.
- Initiative and drive, together with the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
Who Can Apply
- Completion of an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in the last 2 years or by the end of 2024
- The program starts in February 2025. You must also be an Australian citizen and willing to undergo background checks as required.
