8.3
8.3 rating for Training, based on 46 reviews
Please describe the training programmes at your company and tell us what skills you've picked up.
The Formal training is top notch. Absolutely nothing but quality from the guys at Pheul, however the informal training (which you can still fail by the way), is poor. Just learning modules.

Training and development can vary per team and from my experience is more on the job instead of formal training.

There is mandatory training which provides background for what TAL as a business must do regarding compliance, which can be applicable to some of the work you might do. There are also workshops across the graduate program which teaches essential skills to help you succeed in the workplace such as critical thinking and influence. TAL also provides a lot of optional training to help upskill such as Udemy (similar to LinkedIn Learning), workshops etc. From what I can see, TAL is investing a lot in it's people to help them gain the skills they want to get.

TAL has more formal training using online modules as opposed to face to face. These include mandatory training modules like compliance all the way to development training like LinkedinLearning. We also have enterprise wide training programs which are face to face and seek to develop leadership capabilities of our people.

Tech graduates can get Azure/other types of certifications and TAL will pay for 50% of the test costs. We're given some training platforms and also opportunities to participate in Azure course workshops sponsored by TAL.

More structured on the job training would be helpful, especially on any new software.

Structured development days oriented around improving communication, branding and other soft skills. An induction week prior to the first rotation where we were given company background and chances to meet the executive team. In-role training was very thorough, my manager and coworkers were very supportive and were always willing to help me learn.

Personally, almost the entirety of my actual training has been on the job. It can be difficult starting out as nothing is familiar, but my team quickly helped me get up to speed to our pricing methodology, processes and governance.

I find that I do a lot of on the job training, as I pick up the skills I use, such as technical software skills, whilst I do the work. There is a lot more informal / on the job training, compared to formal training for me.

Very good development programs facilitated by Fuel; help build personal brand, navigate change and understand how teamwork works. My team members are also very eager to help and teach me.

Induction week + graduate development days every quarter.

As a Grad there is a comprehensive program where we get taught all the soft skills required as a leader - so far I have done a session every month
Graduate, Sydney - 02 Aug 2023
Ongoing training and development program focuses on soft skills. Induction was more content heavy.

I think onboarding training could be slightly improved. However there are a plethora of resources which are available for self guided training. An example of this is the Microsoft Azure fundamentals certification which I achieved, however this was at my own pace and only suggested by my colleagues

Good range of formal and informal training programs.

we have training days every 3 months or so. Last one was on the art of persuasion, of which I learn about influencing decisions while you are not there.
