I think this year in particular there has been a focus on putting proper support and networks for minorities within the company. The policies in Ventia are great. The NZ side of the business is a lot more diverse than Australia, but this diversity is in lower paying roles within the company.

With the graduate program there's like about a 1 to 1 ratio of women to men. Overall, there's also a good variety of ethnicities part of the program as well. Ventia also has a lot of communities such as an intercultural network or an LGBTIQA+ community which gives those people a community, people to reach out to and a sort of support system also which is good.
Graduate, Melbourne - 15 Aug 2024
Graduate cohort is diverse and fairly equal in gender however the industry within STEM lacks women, younger workers and ethnic minorities/LGBTQIA community
Graduate, Perth - 13 Aug 2024
We have specific recruitment processes set up for each division of diversity (veterans, women, ethnic minorities, indigenous, disabled, etc.) We partner with a recruitment company who runs hiring manager training that goes over diversity employment. We also are joined with a company who focuses on indigenous recruitment and retention. I am unsure of issues such as promotion, childcare and maternity leave.

Graduate, Melbourne - 29 Mar 2023
The company takes diversity very seriously and has recently committed to the 40:40:20 rule - 40% women, 40% men, 20% either. Additionally, the company takes the hiring of indigenous people very seriously.
Graduate, Sydney - 29 Mar 2023
The company is doing its best to tackle diversity. With an industry that is primarily in physical, laborious industries, it bolsters some impressive numbers with regards to women. However, there is still a lot of work to be done. In terms of aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, the company has a number of programs that focus on recruitment, retention, and rehabilitation in the community. I am really proud of their efforts.
