Your role
This graduate engineering role will involve supporting the design and development of Digital Mine Technology (DMT) products. The focus will be on hardware and firmware for both above-ground and underground mining applications.
The technology used is specific to the mining domain and combines software, firmware, and hardware components. These products are designed for integration into mining vehicles and machinery to enable Collision Awareness Systems (CAS). The successful candidate will collaborate with mechanical and software engineers and will be located at the DMT production facility. They will be expected to provide electronic production support when necessary.

Responsibilities:
Work closely with the broader engineering team to create optimum hardware/firmware solutions
Concurrently manage multiple priorities monitoring progress and quality
Provide timely communications on significant issues, risks, or developments
Participate in technical design reviews
May work with customers (internal and external) to create product specifications
Work with system engineers in system decomposition, allocating functions to hardware/firmware or software as required
Do detailed embedded/digital hardware designs
Create verification/validation and qualification test plans
Work closely with the broader engineering team (ECAD/MCAD/Software) to create optimum hardware/firmware/software solutions
Perform sample procurement and board debug/bring up
Perform or review V&V and qualification tests
Work closely with the Mechanical/Software peers to ensure developments meet the requirements

Qualifications and Skills
Degree qualified (preference for Electrical Engineering) with exposure to working with embedded / industrial products.
Essential:
Keen interest in design, in particular embedded products for industrial/automotive environments.
