Management at ACCIONA Australia and New Zealand

8.5
8.5 rating for Management, based on 102 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
Managers are busy but will assign tasks depending on my current competencies and suggest resources for learning.

Currently unassigned so I cannot speak much of this but Partners and managers who do the extensive training speaks that they are willing to go beyond arm's length to help us new hires. I was only disappointed whenever typhoon happens and we were really experiencing bad weather, but the announcements of postponing activities are always delayed.

All my managers have been great. They want me to learn and progress myself as much as I can. They are obviously all different, but that message rings true throughout. I feel the balance between praise and challenging me is right, which motivates me to do well. Whenever I begin work in a new project/under and different manager, I outline to them that I like feedback, and I want to be the first person to know if there's something I can improve on or am doing badly.

Good mentors, could recognize achievement better
Site Engineer, Sydney - 12 Sep 2024
Not accessible, uncomfortable to approach, micromanagers, performance feedback is irrelevant and useless as they are unaware of tasks and processes

Very intelligent people who are approachable, friendly and always willing to help. Personally have felt they are invested in my growth and want the best for myself.

My manager was new to the business and was not very good. He has since left, and I am manager-less. However, I think my colleagues are overall very satisfied with their managers.

Managers at the company are highly accessible and approach their roles as mentors with great dedication. They maintain open lines of communication and are readily available for discussions, guidance, and support. Their mentoring style is supportive and constructive, focusing on helping employees grow and develop their skills.

My manager's very easy to talk to and explains things very clearly. He always provides useful feedback and makes sure everyone in the team is recognised for their hard work. He's also very open to helping me with the Acciona graduate program requirements.

very much like mentors, they are very professional and care about you.

My manager allows me plenty of space to work away on things on my own, and generally communicates well given low resourcing. I am praised for good work, however I have had to work out a lot of it on my own due to low resourcing in the business.

They are all really helpful in terms of work but also when it comes to personal life. They challenge me and they are always respectful.

My current manager is incredible and always accessible and willing to help.

Great boss and since the team has a quite lateral hierarchy, older colleagues are like mentors. Have learnt a lot through my team and they are all open to giving advice and assisting when needed.

I will say my manager is the best in the world (my world). Patient, encourage to learn, won't drop something totally strange to you and leave you along, always help you doing step by step training and understand task from basic to complex.

They are always willing to help, and they provide great mentorship. However, sometimes they are very busy and can take some time for them to answer emails and messages.

depending on how high up your managers are, they are usually quite busy and have high level tasks. monthly meetings are great. there hasn't been a lot of praise and recognition.
Graduate, Sydney - 30 Jul 2024
Both my manager and boss are quite easily accessible. My boss is a great mentor however my manager is not. It's their first time managing someone and they haven't done much mentoring in the aspect of explaining things. However they are good at checking in on me and my progression in the graduate program. Praise and recognition doesn't really come around a lot. I get the occasional “great work” comment but nothing else
