What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
the grad program is one of the more highly paid public grad programs out there
Graduate, Canberra - 12 Sep 2024
The pay is transparent and there are no bonuses. ACT Government pays more than most graduate programs for my field.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Sep 2024
We don't have bonuses... But pay is great.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Sep 2024
Satisfactory.
Graduate, Canberra - 05 Sep 2024
Pay seems adequate and appropriate.
Graduate, Canberra - 03 Sep 2024
We get paid very well especially as a graduate level. If it weren't for the pay, I would've taken the offers in Victoria or Queensland.
Graduate, Canberra - 03 Sep 2024
Good. Transparent, competitive. Provides good conditions including the various types of leave.
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Sep 2024
For the work I am completing, the pay is good. We do not have bonuses, however I think I am being paid appropriately for the work and workload. Given the training and exposure opportunities provided which can help my career long term, I think it is a very good pay package.
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Sep 2024
While pay is good for someone coming straight out of university, it is poor for people changing careers, people with families, and people trying to rebuild themselves after raising a family.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Nov 2023
The pay is good but the cost of living in Canberra can be difficult to manage.
Graduate, Canberra - 31 Oct 2023
Pay is good however it is disappointing that pay does not meet the rate of inflation. Other than that, the pay with ACT government is pretty good. Bonuses are non-existent though.
Graduate, Canberra - 30 Oct 2023
Pay is great. There's health and wellbeing bonuses, disability leave etc.
Graduate, Canberra - 30 Oct 2023
Graduate pay, although the best in the country, is still pretty poor to live in Canberra. I don't have many thoughts on this. I make do. I don't really care about pay. I can live at this stage so that's okay, of course I would care for a little more in the back pocket. Sometimes I'm pay packet to pay packet.
Graduate, Canberra - 27 Oct 2023
The pay is relatively high compared to other graduate programs, but it does not quite align with cost-of-living pressures. The flex time is very good, but the bonuses are an unknown at this point.
Graduate, Canberra - 27 Oct 2023
No bonus, comparatively low pay rates
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Oct 2023
The EBA agreement has been approve and we get the pay rise and back pay which is fantastic. The pay is good in the ACT Government.
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Oct 2023
As a Grad, I am chuffed with the pay. Though EBA deal was pretty ordinary

More than satisfied.
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Oct 2023
The pay in the ACT PS for a graduate is one of the best in the country.

What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
extremely generous leave policies and pretty progressive too
Graduate, Canberra - 12 Sep 2024
None that I know of.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Sep 2024
We have an inclusive leave policy with extra leave for gender affirmation, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ceremonies, Miscarriage/Stillbirth, and extra personal leave in special circumstances. There is a superannuation scheme where the employer contributes and extra percent of super if we voluntarily contribute 3% or more. There are no other perks.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Sep 2024
Flexy work arrangements. the opportunity to serve the community. Canberra's a great place to live.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Sep 2024
Flexible work (e.g. wfh). Networking opportunities and events as part of the grad program.
Graduate, Canberra - 05 Sep 2024
Progressive and considerate leave policies including disability leave, wellbeing reimbursement
Graduate, Canberra - 03 Sep 2024
Flex. Never change it.
Graduate, Canberra - 03 Sep 2024
Perks as an employment compensation crutch are garbage. I want clear and good conditions with reliable pay, and I'll take care of the rest. The single best aspect regarding employment conditions are the good leave arrangements.
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Sep 2024
I personally am not too aware of all the perks (however I am sure there are some). I know there is some sort of rebate available for health costs (maybe getting money back for gym equipment). There are a lot of salary sacrifice options which I personally see as a perk and there is gym equipment in the office which I sometimes use so I don't have to pay for a gym membership.
Graduate, Canberra - 02 Sep 2024
There are no perks that I know of.
Graduate, Canberra - 06 Nov 2023
The very initial support is good but there is little to none afterwards.
Graduate, Canberra - 31 Oct 2023
There are a wide variety of different leave types available to employees. ACT Government employees also get discounted gym membership with Club Lime, and can be reimbursed for some health and wellbeing activities (for example if you join a sports team, buy exercise equipment etc.)
Graduate, Canberra - 30 Oct 2023
Health and wellbeing bonus for things like a Pilates class, sneakers etc. (100); moving expenses covered, generous leave policies, a lot of co-working spaces in the city, super progressive enterprise agreements
Graduate, Canberra - 30 Oct 2023
Unfortunately no perks like that exist. However we have perks such as flex time, hybrid location working and occasional events for cultural learning and mental health awareness.
Graduate, Canberra - 30 Oct 2023
Don't know about any. Leave policies are OK I suppose. Moving expenses was something that attracted me, but it was incredibly difficult to access and turned out I wasn't entitled to something for some silly administrative reason.
Graduate, Canberra - 27 Oct 2023
Not sure at this point apart from Employee Assistance Package.
Graduate, Canberra - 27 Oct 2023
Donating blood counts as time at work.
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Oct 2023
Generous leave policies. Flex leave is fantastic and there are many different types of leave to cover certain reasons, such as leave specifically for representative sport, which is great for me as an athlete.
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Oct 2023
None of the above.
Graduate, Canberra - 26 Oct 2023
After the end of each rotation the team has done the farewell team lunch.
