How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
The hours are pretty standard, there may be some days that you have to put a few more hours in however the company is pretty good at recognising this and being flexible on given working arrangements. Like every job there are periods that are a little more relaxed and periods that are more intense.

the ACT Government has an excellent structure for flexible working arrangements, with set office days averaging 2-3 days per week. There is also good arrangements for working in flexible office spaces across Canberra, rather than just WFH. I have also been allowed to work from QLD when I've had to travel home for family.

I am able to work part-time to care for my health. This has been of immense value to me.

My work is very flexible with hours and we have "flexitime" in our employee agreement. If I have no scheduled responsibilities (e.g. a meeting) at work, then I am free to use my flexitime with my supervisor's permission.

Would be happy with more team hours in the office but company has a very progressive flexible work policy.

Teams have been very flexible with start times as long as I communicate if my start time will be later than usual. I have not been required to work longer than 7.35 hours per day but have the opportunity to if I have work to finish. This has suited me.

Flex is phenomenal. Supervisors have been fantastic at allowing me to communicate. Every workplace should have flex.

I don't work extra hours outside of my tracked allocation. I have a large degree of autonomy regarding how I plan my workdays, including flexible arrangements outside of standard hours to need. This empowers me to balance my life's duties to the best of my ability including to perform as an employee to my best.

My currently role is very flexible. As long as I am doing my required hours (36.75), don't let my flex balance get over 10 hours, and don't let it get negative, I have a lot of flexibility to work the hours I want/need to work. There is also a lot of flexibility in regards to coming into the office, with the recommendation to go in 2 days per week but if for some reason I can't do that in a particular week they are very supportive.

Flexibility was great, although I feel a great deal is lost in collaboration and networking without office days. For a graduate it can be very isolating. I had occasions where I only met team members online. If I were to walk past them, I would not recognise them to say hello. The benefits of flexibility are numerous, and it is very valuable, although I feel more has to be done to offset the negative aspects of work from home and changes in hours. This is especially the case for graduates, and I would suggest new employees to the ACT Public Service.

We are required to come in to the office 2 days a week. I think this is a good amount of time to spend in the office.

ACT Government is largely flexible when it comes to hours. There will be times when it is mandatory to work at certain times in order to attend meetings etc., but for the most part, managers are happy for you to work the hours that suit you, provided you still get all your work done.

There's a set number you need to work, but the start / end times are really flexible. My team are pretty scattered, I'd love more time with us all together in one space.

The flexibility is good. Sometimes I spend less or longer in the office. This varies naturally and as required. No one expects me to stay behind but if I do, I can use that later on with flex. So it's a great culture. It's not that I'm rewarded for staying back, but it's not a bad thing if I do nor is it a really good thing, it's just a decision I can make.
