Management at Alluvium Group

8.6
8.6 rating for Management, based on 11 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
Management is mostly accessible. However, sometimes, they are too busy to fully pay attention or help you out. Internal communication and performance feedback are very variable depending on who you have as a manager. Management has recently expressed they are working to improve some of their functions, and are engaging with graduates on how we can be better supported by managers at our company.

You will have a direct team leader who manages you, and you will also have the project managers of the different projects you are working on, that will manage you. This means I am managed directly and indirectly by a large number of people, who all have varying skill in being a mentor, in how they communicate, and in how they provide feedback to me. Some of them are fantastic, and some of them are still building these skills. Overall, I feel mentorship, communication, and the provision of feedback are skills that are done well by most people who have managing roles at Alluvium.

Help in generally offered when needed and managers check up on you a lot when you are a graduate. Senior experts are very willing to teach you and help you learn while working.

Managers are very accessible and are always there to support and mentor you. We have weekly meetings with managers to update them on how we're tracking. They are great at providing feedback.

My managers and other senior colleagues are brilliant to work with, and I feel lucky to be able to learn from them directly in many instances. I,'m provided with a good balance of independence and guidance from my managers, in addition to them always taking the time to acknowledge my efforts, even during their own intensely busy periods. There is a good level of communication between my managers and the rest of the team, which is essential as we are not always in the same physical space with the flexibility of being able to work from home.

I speak with my direct manager very frequently, and the other managers at my company are open to email or phone calls if we need to contact them for anything. I have felt that I can reach out to my manager for guidance when I need it. Performance feedback was conducted by my manager, which made it feel personalised - and included 360 feedback from other people I'd worked with. People are recognised internally for their project-based achievements via impact awards. Or mentions at team meetings or organised events. This means that people are recognised for large achievements, as well as smaller but still important achievements. Written communication can be scattered as some people prefer to use email, and others prefer to use Yammer. However, we have regular state-based meetings and larger group updates about 4 times per year.

He sits next to me. But they are super friendly, really chill and yeah I believe there are performance feedback surveys once in a while.
