Culture at Australian Taxation Office (ATO)

The structure hierarchy is very clear. I am part of a tight knit and friendly team who support opportunities for growth, development and team work.

The workplace culture is amazing. After working in a private organisation before joining the graduate program, I was so shocked to see how friendly and welcoming everyone was at the ATO. Teams work so well together, supporting each other and collaborating together to reach decisions. I have always felt supported by my managers in every role I have worked in so far. Being in the office is enjoyable because we are able to socialise with colleagues and friends. I have met some amazing friends at work who I believe will be friends for life - we have lunch/coffee together at work but also hang out outside of work (e.g. after work drinks, weekend events etc.)

The team culture is very safe and supportive, I feel comfortable to ask questions and seek clarifications. Management is approachable and provide professional and timely feedback on the work I did. They created learning opportunities for us and support our professional learning. We have social events on special occasions such as end of the financial year get together, budget night celebrations etc to help each other connect with other colleagues.

In the office, staff are friendly and helpful. We have a social club that organises events, so there's opportunity to network with others in the organisation. Even though there is a hierarchy, superiors are approachable and good mannered.

Culture on site is good. I have no experience with out of work culture with colleagues.

The culture is outstanding and would rate this organisation as the best workplace I have ever worked in. Everyone is extremely friendly and ready to assist with any questions relating to work.

I work in a small team with few senior case officers (EL1s), technical leader & team leader, who report to senior management in the department. There is a good level of cooperation and collaboration across the team, and there is ample support from technical and team leaders in maintaining a positive work environment and encouraging staff to develop their skills. There have been social activities planned for team bonding at end-of-financial year and Christmas time.

Great friendly culture at the workplace where team leaders and colleagues are always willing to assist to ensure we are performing at our best. After hours, some of us grads hang out with each other which going for dinner or for activities like bowling.

I received a lot of support throughout my graduate journey. The team always include me for after hours gathering .

Everyone at the ATO is extremely friendly, helpful and social.

There is a friendly and supportive culture within the office. I have found people to be welcoming and eager to assist with work. As part of the graduate program there have been several social events that are always good fun.

The hours are flexible and reasonable, my managers and mentors are always happy to help and collaboration and socialisation amongst fellow co-workers is welcomed.
