As a central agency, Finance drives the delivery of the Australian Government's Budget, supporting all agencies through the Budget process. We also have a leadership role for public sector governance and reporting and deliver a number of whole-of-government services.
Finance plays a pivotal role in assisting the government of the day in every facet of policy, program delivery and operational work to ensure its outcomes are met, particularly regarding expenditure and financial management and a number of significant operations of government.

As a graduate in Finance, you will be supported through two six month work placements, informed by our high priority work and where the skills and capabilities of our graduates will be best utilised and developed. To ensure you'll be exposed to diverse work across the department, each placement will be in a different area of the business.
