What are your thoughts on pay and bonuses at your company?
No bonuses. Pay is reasonable for a grad, however it seems that most of the work done by grads is the same as work done by people working at significantly higher pay levels.
Graduate, Brisbane - 20 Sep 2024
The pay is fairly good for a graduate program.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Sep 2024
I am satisfied with this entry-level pay plus the opportunities for advancement. Not aware of any bonuses
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Sep 2024
The pay is quite low for a graduate role in comparison to other graduate jobs.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Jul 2024
Whatever I was earning doing the part time work before this role, whilst completing my degree, pales in comparison to this wage so I am biased
Graduate, Brisbane - 15 Jul 2024
It is good, more is better.
Graduate, Brisbane - 12 Jul 2024
The pay is very good.
Graduate, Brisbane - 10 Jul 2024
I am satisfied with my pay as a starting rate for a graduate program
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
No complaints from me
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
There aren't many bonuses within this program, aside from the end of year leave packaging, but coming from a casual working basis to something permanent with consistent pay and hours (flexible hours too) is a huge plus. I feel if the public sector were to employ bonuses then it could be 'gamed' or have employees focus on these incentives for the wrong reasons. I am more than happy to take a regular paycheck.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
I get the same pay as the other grads.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
Suitable for position held.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
The pay (AO3 salary) is excellent for a starting salary. It increases each year you are on the program, as well as bonuses you receive for having a higher education.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
The pay is better than some other graduate programs (especially federal government), however seems disproportionate to the work we are doing. It is frustrating that we are often doing the work of AO5+ only being paid as an AO3. There is also no progression to AO4 at the end of the first year other than the standard increment. Being government, there are no bonuses
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
I understand that as graduates we are on a lower income and have benefits of the L & D. But as a mature person in the program with a proven work history, it would be nice if there was some flexibility there. Particularly when we have the additions of a mortgage and kids, etc
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
Relative to other Graduate Programs, it pays well. However, it still isn't enough in my opinion.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
I was not fully satisfied with the pay when I accepted the position. However, over the last few months, some changes have been made due to State agreement and consequently, the pay has been bumped up.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
I would have preferred to be paid on a higher level due to my previous work experience. I could salary sacrifice more when I was in the non-government sector than where I am now.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
No bonuses. Pay is reasonable for a grad, however it seems that most of the work done by grads is the same as work done by people working at significantly higher pay levels.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
It's not the best paid job in the world but for a graduate position I think it is okay.
Experienced, Brisbane - 04 Apr 2022
What are your company's best or most unusual perks? For example: free tickets, free dinners, moving expenses, taxis, pension, etc.
Flexible work, including working from home & accruing additional hours to take off at a later date.
Graduate, Brisbane - 20 Sep 2024
Being QLD Government, there aren't many bonuses I hear of.
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Sep 2024
Discounted fitness pass is a great perk, as well as the accruable time for upcoming hours/days I may need for personal use
Graduate, Brisbane - 02 Sep 2024
Best perk is probably the events we get to attend when they have free meals or food. OR at full-day trainings when we get fed for the whole day. However since it is government, we can't get many more perks.
Graduate, Brisbane - 24 Jul 2024
Nothing unusual but I enjoy being able to attend conferences and have the costs covered
Graduate, Brisbane - 15 Jul 2024
Flexible start times, ATL accrual.
Graduate, Brisbane - 12 Jul 2024
There are SO FEW PERKS. The lack of access to perks is one downside.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
Superannuation and access to fitness passport
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
Not any I can think of, but the general government bonuses for super and fitness memberships etc are nice.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
Policy Futures invites to networking events and conferences.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
As its government there aren't many unusual perks. You get discounted gym membership and the ability to salary sacrifice super contributions.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Jul 2024
Being a government program perks are limited, however there are discounts on fitness memberships, private health, and the option to salary sacrifice. There may be opportunities to attend additional learning and development opportunities such as conferences and professional breakfasts which are paid by the program.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
The Fitness Passport
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
Travel opportunities, building access to cafes and restaurants downstairs.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
There are corporate health insurance and gym membership at discounted rate, which I have not been using. But it is good to know it exists. Unusual would be limit on the use of milk (tea and coffee milk is provided, however, if you were to have breakfast, you are expected to bring your own milk. I found it unusual as my previous employers used to supply it). Another unusual or usual, depending on how people value status, I have noticed, some people started to treat me differently simply because now I am with the Government.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
Discounted private health insurance, gym memberships and novated leasing
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
Flexible work, including working from home & accruing additional hours to take off at a later date.
Graduate, Brisbane - 08 Jul 2024
The best perk is the superannuation up to 12.75% with a co-contributed 5% (which you can salary sacrifice) is very attractive, and will make a huge difference down the track as a young worker. Another nice perk is a amazing end of trip facilities at 1 William Street. Secure bike/scooter storage, lockers, and showers is a great alternative to the usual commute methods.
Graduate, Brisbane - 04 Apr 2022
No perks at all. I had no assistance relocating from South Australia for the program.
Graduate, Brisbane - 04 Apr 2022
Flexible work arrangements are the most beneficial perk
