Management at Essential Energy

9.3
9.3 rating for Management, based on 17 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
Managers are very accessible and are supportive of your development journey. They are busy but if you send a message they'll get back to you or make some time for a chat. Asides ad-hoc questions they have regular catchups with you where you can discuss any questions you may have, how you're handling the work load if you have any call outs etc, basically a time with them to talk about whatever is on your mind, positive or negative. They aren't afraid to give credit where it's due, and they don't just shelve you away, they actively give tasks that would raise your visibility across the organisation and showcase what you're capable of.

Good mentors and approachable, receive praise and recognition readily. Due to workloads sometimes it feels that they are not as accessible but regardless always will assist you if you need it.

As a recent graduate, I've found our managers to be incredibly accessible and approachable, making them fantastic mentors. They maintain an open-door policy, which encourages open communication and makes it easy to share ideas and feedback. When it comes to performance feedback, they are proactive and constructive, always aiming to help us grow and develop our skills. Praise and recognition are given generously, celebrating our achievements and motivating us to strive for excellence. Overall, the supportive and communicative environment they create makes it a fantastic place to work and grow professionally.

Trainers and boss are good. So far so good haven't had any bad experiences yet. My CIO offered me parental paternity leave even though I couldn't access it until after 12 months but I needed it as I had a newborn born 3 months into my job.

had 3 managers since starting, first was fired, second was temporary and third was recently hired, my current manager is very approachable and focused on career development

The teams I have worked with were fairly small (3-5 people) so managers were easily accessible. We have regular bi-weekly catchups which provides a good opportunity to keep up to date and also receive feedback/praise.
