Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
Employees are promoted based on merit and performance. They make a business case for the promotion and then are assessed according to their overall performance and feedback from seniors and peers.

Promotion opportunities for juniors went from automatic to merit based, which is a corporate way of saying it went from being based on your raw experience and tenure, which rewards loyalty without fear, to being based on the biased opinions of seniors, leaving your financial and career future being up to whether or not your personality clashes with your superiors or not.

For the first five years from grad to manager, yearly promotion is expected if you are generally capable. This is after yearly performance reviews.
Graduate, Sydney - 13 Aug 2024
The promotion cycles are infrequent, the progression also seems regimented (neither a good nor a bad thing necessarily).

Satisfied with my ability to progress. You need to create the opportunity, but if you do everyone in the team is there to support you.

Promotions are very accessible at the company. Each role has a defined set of responsibilities. To receive a promotion, an employee has to demonstrate (through their work) that they have what it takes to perform the tasks required by the level above.

Well set out structure to promotions.

No possibility for early promotion at junior levels, and possible senior, however good career progression later and possibility to move externally easily with good experience and reputation.
Midlevel, Sydney - 11 Feb 2021
The company has a clear hierarchy and goal/ performance review process to understand what needs to be done to achieve a promotion.

As I have only worked here for a short time I am not fully certain on the promotion process, however from what I have heard others are satisfied with it.

There are promotion possibilities at all levels (except Partner). The promotion process begins with the individual seeking promotion requesting one via application, this application is then discussed at a roundtable with senior members of the firm. I am not entirely familiar with the necessary requirements to move up the ranks as this is not of concern to me at the present time.
