Job Satisfaction at Monadelphous

Depending on the scope of work for the project that you are working on at the time, and whether you are interested in the scope will determine your level of job satisfaction.

My current rotation allows me to work with the internal hire of assets, internal rent and depreciation. All of which are important areas to develop knowledge in for an Accountant.

I have extremely enjoyed working day to day in heavy lift producing lift studies and working with other engineers. It brings a good challenge that tests me and is satisfying to complete.

I am a project engineer, when on site I have been completing work packs and giving supervisors guidance on how they are to complete the job. I have undertaken procurement tasks and there is also a lot of interaction with the client to tell them where we are up to.

Day to day roles vary, and you are expected to complete a range of tasks. Some days are really busy and others are slow depending on the stage of the project.

Engineering, RFIs, construction support, planning

PE - overseeing the completion of a project with heavy client involvement to work out technical issues and cost associations

Generally it's either project delivery or estimating. Project delivery is procurement, working with subcontractors and suppliers, supervisors e.c.t to solve problems before boots are on site or material is delivered. Estimating( working out the working steps, assigning labor, getting pricing e.c.t) is the larger part I'm finding and is the most in demand in the BMC location. As most of the work has no allowance for engineers on site, generally I am never on site sadly.

Even though I'm still relatively new to the industry, I have been trained up well and now have a vast list of responsibilities which makes me feel truely included in the team.

Project engineering, workpack development, on site construction support, providing technical solutions, working and communicating with the client.

on the first team I was a part of the work was interesting and the team was incredible with teaching and there was always something to do. The second team feels like I'm just an extra and there i'snt any work for me to actually do.

Running reports on assets Creating journals Tracking owned and leased properties and creating journals to internally charge them

Given a good level of work on projects to contribute meaningfully but also not overwhelmed.

RFQ's and mapping for estimates are mainly what I do and are rewarding when something works

Role entails a rotating month cycle, which allows for creating a routine with managing the relevant tasks at the time of month.

Acting as a project engineer and assisting in scoping, quote and managing projects.

Essentially assisting my managers with projects they are running

It's more admin work rather than graduate work
