Career Prospects at Susquehanna International Group

In a growing office there is plenty of opportunity at the moment for career progression in trading, though a lot is dependent on what is needed at the time without much input/choice from you.

Responsibilities and pay have both increased quite rapidly during my time here. It is definitely a meritocracy where performance is measured in terms of the quality of your decisions and the expectations of the seat you are in over raw PnL numbers.

SIG has a very flat organisational structure, so whilst the ability to get a title change may be limited, there is uncapped ability to take on additional responsibility and add value to the team, which will have impact. In that sense, being able to do more is not determined by red tape and bureaucracy, but more about having the best idea and being willing to take on the additional responsibility.

Process is fairly clear on how progression will work, I knew what I signed up for and it had been followed as expected.

A lot of opportunity for growth in the trading industry. Also, the flat structure of the company means you get to learn a lot from very senior traders.

While Susquehanna doesn't have ranks besides team leads, the company is very supportive of my career progression and provides avenues to learn and build skills. There are periodic reviews to reassess pay and they ensure highly competitive salaries. However, unlike other tech companies, the pay increases are not as open/standardised, which may be worth considering.

Susquehanna is a company that recognizes achievement, and while there aren't many formal ranks to move up there is definitely opportunity if you provide enough value.
