Culture at Susquehanna International Group

8.7
8.7 rating for Culture, based on 23 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
The culture is very flat - you are encouraged to ask questions at all times. The learning curve at SIG is extremely steep but this culture is very conducive for learning. Everyone is happy to answer a question, despite being very busy. The role is very collaborative with constant communication within the Research team, with traders, technology developers, and across our international offices. There are also plenty of social events - a nice way to relax and have some fun outside of the office with your colleagues.

Collaboration is highly emphasised both within teams and between different teams. People are friendly, easy to talk to, always willing to chat or discuss trading concepts.

My team will sometimes arrange lunch outings, which is a pleasant way to break up the monotony of office days.

Good cooperative environment. Very social culture especially amongst the junior/medium level traders. Generally flat structure as you're able to walk up to anyone to discuss ideas.

In office the vibes are great. Everyone is very supportive and driven to succeed. There is a loose hierarchy but all opinions are valid, as a grad I was able to make trading recommendations to the head of desk regarding stocks they trade and was often told "thats a good point I am going to do that" or words to that effect, as long as you have value to add your position isn't limiting. People are generally happy to do things outside of work when asked e.g. grabbing drinks or playing board games

Culture in the office & mentoring: My learning has been customised to me. In the first 3 months I was working on small projects with the guidance of my mentor who is a senior software developer, to learn the core tech skills of the development cycle. I also did some upskilling and courses on tech stacks. Over 3-6 months I took on bigger projects with more systems design. And I was able to drive these projects myself. After Hours: There are always social events on such as End of Year Party, Poker tournament which get a lot of attendance. Plus lunchtimes and Friday night drinks are a great time to network and get exposure to other departments. Structure and hierarchy: We are pretty flat structured, which means that everyone is very approachable and easy to talk with which is really beneficial when first joined.

Susquehanna has a very flat structure. Each team has a lead, but beyond that, everyone is considered equal. My team is extremely helpful and always willing to stop whatever they're doing. As far as after hours work, it is very rare to be called after ~6pm. However, my team sometimes has scheduled after hours deployments/system maintenance that requires logging in. When it comes to socialising, all the tech graduates eat lunch together and every month we have a company organised event for both the tech & trader graduates to hangout and get to know each other.

The company culture in office hours is very supportive, cooperative and friendly. People always have time to set aside their work to help or discuss something with you. Out of hours the culture is good, I often catch up with other grads or go out to dinner after work. I would consider most of my co-workers my friends. The company hierarchy is relatively flat, with minimal levels of formalized promotion. The company operates more like a meritocracy where the best idea will always win, regardless of who's saying it.

The company's culture is good with everyone being nice, supportive and welcoming. In the office, people are happy to help you with work and have a conversation. After hours, the company holds various events and weekly Friday drinks to help socialise and get to know your co-workers. Although there is structure and hierarchy, it doesn't feel stifling or impact my job negatively in anyway.

The firm has a flat structure. CTO > Manager > Team Lead > Developers. Good cultures in the office and after hours. Loads of cooperation between teams, people are happy to help and share knowledges. I felt respected and be taken seriously by senior and managers. I do hang out with some colleagues in after hours.
